Save the dates for 2025 Pet Pantry distributions beginning Saturday, January 18. All distributions are from 9 - 11 am at 2711 W Lawrence Ave. Chicago, IL 60625.

To receive pet food you must:
- Be a resident of Chicago
- Have a GCFD card or Photo ID + proof of residency
- Bring documentation for each pet you own showing they were spayed or neutered

Reminder! Free holiday meal boxes are being distributed this Saturday, December 21 from 2-5 pm at 2711 W Lawrence Ave.

How to receive a box:
- Be a resident of Cook County
- Bring your GCFD card or photo ID + proof of residency
- Come to the pantry between 2-5 pm, please do not line up before noon.
Families are also eligible to pick up toys from the toy drive hosted by Loafers Bar!

To utilize the pet food pantry you must be a Chicago resident and bring proof of spay/neuter for each of your pets that needs food or supplies.

PS - Let us know if your pet needs specialty diet food. We have kidney/urinary diet food available for dogs and cats.

Congrats to Bonbon and Mazikeen for winning the costume contest! Thank you to everyone who entered their pets and all the folks who voted, there were a lot of cuties to choose from.

Thank you to generous neighborhood businesses who donated items for their goodie bags! Our cat prize was generously donated by 4Legs Pet, Treats De Cuisine, and Ruff Haus Pets. Our dog prize was donated by Treats de Cuisine and Ruff Haus Pets.

Please note that the contest was open for voting on this page as well as The Friendship Center's Facebook and Instagram pages. Votes were counted once per person and if someone voted more than once for the same type of pet, only their first vote was counted. If someone voted more than once on the different pages only one vote was counted.

Thanks to everyone who visited us at the Lakeview Halloween Pup Crawl last Saturday! It's always fun to see your pups and their unique and creative costumes. Thank you to our volunteers who helped share about the Friendship Pet Food Pantry and give out treats.

We received nine entries to our Fourth Annual Pet Costume Contest this year!

Voting is now open! This contest is featured on The Friendship Center's page, Instagram page, and Friendship Pet Food Pantry page.

You can vote for the best costume by commenting the pet's name or liking their photo. Limited to one entry per cat and dog per person.

Voting will close at 11:59PM CT on Thursday, October 31. There will be one dog and one cat winner and they will be announced by 11AM CT on Friday, November 1. Thank you 4Legs Pet and Treats De Cuisine for donating items for the winners!

Good luck to all the pets!

Our friends Tree House Humane Society also shared two cats up for adoption. If you're interested in Fink or Jazara, please reach out to them directly.
