Juneteenth is the celebration of the Black community, of Black triumphs, and mourning the tragedy of stolen freedom and forced labor of enslaved people. For many Black Americans, the upcoming Fourth of July holiday is not a celebration of freedom. In 1776, the United States declared Independence, however all Black Americans were not free until 87 years later, June 19th, 1865.

Juneteenth was an important victory in history against racism in the United States.

Black Americans still face anti-blackness and racism across the country. We will never be able to undo the trauma and pain the Black community has endured, but we will always advocate for a more equitable world. We will continue to help dismantle systems of oppression that marginalize the Black community. We are committed to continuing the conversation and the work to address institutional racism within our organization.

Happy Juneteenth; Black Lives Matter.

February 1st marks the first day of Black History Month. It is a time to reflect and honor Black people and a culture that transcends the racist and imperial formations of the United States. It’s a call to action to continue to advocate for and uplift those within society who are often pushed to the margins.

We believe that the acknowledgments and achievements of Blackness and how it permeates all aspects of society should be recognized beyond one month. From the change-makers to the revolutionaries, down to YOU.

We want to take this month to reflect and acknowledge all of the achievements, struggles, and most importantly the resilience of Black people changing our world.

Huge welcome to our 2024 Apprenticeship class! We are so excited to watch all of you grow! 🌱

Dia de los mu***os/ Day of the dead is a Mexican holiday where families celebrate their love ones who have passed away.

Our staff worked very hard in making an alter for our loved ones who have passed on. They harvest marigolds to add because they represent the fleeting nature of life and the enduring power of memory.

Come down to Farm on Ogden to see our beautiful alter for our loved ones.
