MedVet is celebrating National Nonprofit Day by spotlighting a very special program near and dear to our caregivers: the AVMF REACH Program.

We understand unexpected pet emergencies and specialty veterinary care may be a financial burden for pet families — this program breaks down barriers to access veterinary care by offering grants to over 100,000 AVMA members nationwide. Through the AVMF REACH Program and on behalf of our clients, MedVet veterinarians proudly support charitable care when financial barriers could keep patients from getting the care they need.

If you're interested and able to support pet owners in financial need, please consider making a donation to AVMF's REACH Program by clicking the donation link on this post.

With the help of MedVet Chicago's dedicated team, Bubba the energetic 8-year-old Pomeranian has bravely overcome multiple knee issues. After initially luxating his right patella, Bubba embarked on a rehabilitation journey with Dr. Katie Gundersen in Sports Medicine. In addition to a setback where he tore his CCL while running, leading to further surgery, Bubba faced yet another challenge when he injured his left hind leg, both tearing the CCL and luxating the patella.

Thanks to Dr. Elizabeth Krier's extensive surgical expertise and Dr. Gunderson's rehabilitation plan, Bubba has made a remarkable recovery. Today, he's back to his joyful zooming, snuggling with his best friend and "sister" Rachel, and even modeling for brands. Bubba is certainly a star in our books!
