Dr. O’Brien brings a deeply rooted love for animals and a collaborative approach to care!

Her specialties include cardiology, internal medicine, behavior, or just a solid wellness visit.

Meet Hazel! 😍 She came to Wagnolia for her spay!

Hazel has sensitivities certain oral pain medications, so we ordered a special long-acting local anesthetic called Nocita that we used for her! This medication provided her 72 hours of post-op pain relief - from just one injection!

Did you know?? Local anesthesia blocks like the one Dr. Joshi is performing on Hazel help numb the area before surgery even starts! So your pet wakes up feeling way more comfy and at ease!

Just another one of the many ways we prioritize pain-free, fear-free, low-stress visits!

Diagnosis: needs a spay, but make it comfortable!

Prescription: one expertly-placed local block and LOTS of love!

Jumbo was the goodest patient getting prepped for his COHAT (a comprehensive oral health assessment and treatment)!

Our team, including super star tech and snuggling-pro Karina, makes sure every pet gets the personalized care they need before, during, and after their procedure!

Today, we honor Juneteenth - a day that marks the end of slavery in the U.S. and reminds us of the ongoing work toward justice, equity, and liberation!

At Wagnolia, we believe that true care extends beyond the walls of our clinic. It’s how we show up for our neighbors, listen with empathy, and stand for what’s right - for animals and humans alike!

Our neighborhood has been a long time home for immigrant, Black, and working-class communities. A place where cultures mix, stories are shared, and progress is built - together.

We are so proud and grateful to be part of Uptown’s incredibly diverse and vibrant community!

While there is much more work to do to achieve the justice and equity we wish to see, today we pause in gratitude, reflection, and commitment to a more compassionate future. ❤️🖤💚

Meet Napoleon – our newest patient and total cuddle bug!😊

He came in yesterday for some diagnostics to monitor his kidney values and seizure meds, and was an absolute angel for his exam and blood draw. All the gold stars ⭐️🌟

Fun fact: Napoleon found his forever human when he was a stray at Six Flags (rollercoaster start, am I right? 😉), and they’ve been inseparable ever since! Oh - and he traveled to Mexico this year. Jetsetting behavior only.

Diagnosis: excessive charm, with a side of wobbliness 😆
Treatment plan: continued monitoring... and unlimited snuggles from Karina 🥰

Meet Aoife! 🐾 She’s kicking off Summertime Chi the good girl way - with preventative wellness labs!

If you weren’t impressed already? She also got her blood and stool parasite screens, along with some vaccine updates!

Aoife heard “hot girl summer” and said “sign me uppp for health and wellness!” Can you blame her?? Look at the tail wags that self-care brings!

Today we celebrate the heart and soul of Wagnolia - Dr. Joshi! 💛

For nearly 6 years, she’s poured her passion, smarts, and soul into helping pets live their healthiest, happiest lives at Wagnolia!

She’s not just a veterinarian - she’s a cat mama to 3 beloved furballs, a fierce advocate for animal welfare, a shoulder to cry on, a voice for justice, and a true friend to all who walk through our doors (on two legs or four [or 3. We love a tripod!]).

Our walls got a major glow-up ✨

We’re thrilled to share that Wagnolia is now home to a gorgeous new collection of art - most of it created by the incredibly talented local artist, Erin ! 🧡

Her bright, earthy palette and love for animals brought so much warmth and personality to our space 😊, and we’re so thrilled to show it off!

Huge thanks to Erin - not only for sharing her work with us - but also for her creative eye in helping us hang a few of our own personal pieces (and the Task Rabbit that hung them while we stood & watched). 💪
