Winter wonderland mode: activated ❄️
 We surprised our team with a cozy clinic glow-up, a waffle breakfast, and a gingerbread house showdown (competitive spirits were strong!!).

Dr. Joshi, Sam, and KT took the victory in the gingerbread house competition based on your community votes at the Winter Walk on Wilson!

Even Dr. Shah’s pup Jarvis stopped by to soak it all in 🐾
 Grateful for this team, the joy they bring into our practice every day, and moments like these that remind us how special Wagnolia and its team really are!

There has been a confirmed case of rabies in a vaccinated dog in Chicago. Our founder and medical director, Dr. Joshi, highlights what you need to know (please forgive any sniffles, it’s cold season!)

*This is the first case in Cook County since before 1964.

Our latest window art was inspired by wagging tails – joyful, comforting, and full of movement (which honestly feels very us)!

Community and creativity are absolutely core to who we are, and we love showcasing local artists whose work celebrates animals and connection!

Chicago is officially in sub-zero territory ❄️ (feels like -4 right now), and with extreme cold here, it’s time to adjust routines - especially for our pets. Frostbite and paw injuries can happen quickly when temps drop this crazy low!

A few reminders from our team as you head out:

🐾 Shorten outdoor time When temps dip below ~25°, many dogs should stick to quick potty breaks rather than long walks. While some healthy, long-haired or working breeds (like Huskies and Shepherds) may tolerate cold better, all dogs should be monitored closely.

🧥 Cover exposed skin Coats aren’t just cute - they’re important for smaller dogs, short-haired breeds, seniors, and pets with medical conditions.

🧂 Protect paws from salt + ice melt Booties offer the best protection. If those aren’t an option, paw balm (like Musher’s Secret) can help reduce cracking and irritation. Always wipe paws after walks!

🚗 Extreme cold travel Cats, puppies, and small dogs should avoid walking long distances in this weather - even short trips (including but not limited to the vet or groomer) are best done by car or rideshare when possible. 🐈 Indoor warmth matters! Limit drafts, provide comfy bedding, and make sure pets have warm resting spots during this cold snap. Cozy is key (goals, right??)!
