Phinehas the kitten update! His ear mites (otodectes cynotis) have cleared, and we treated him for the worms in his poop after sending out a stool sample. No more hitchhikers for this very fine tabby cat, who is so big he might be part Maine Coon! Most puppies and kittens are born with worms they get from their mothers, and Phinehas here had microscopic giardia that he picked up when he was a stray. He’ll need some probiotics to give him healthy bacteria for his gut, then will continue his shots to make sure he’s well vaccinated as part of good pet care. In the meantime, he got to try out the cat shelves in our separate cat exam room because kitties feel safe higher up with vertical territory. Follow us for more cat facts!
