These moments in time are all we can promise them. Brandywine will not get to wait forever. We are hoping someone wonderful will come forward to save her. She has the potential to have a dog sibling. She is also petite city living sized & affectionate. Brandywine is sometimes shy to start, but she warms up quickly with a kind & patient approach. Maybe you will save her in honor of Stereo who we lost? We are grateful we had him out on Sat for so many moments of love from his volunteer friends. We are always holding their heartbeats close to us. Stereo was loved by staff & volunteers alike. We have said goodbye to more than 9 of our adoptable dogs in the past 48hrs. All we hope for them is to be allowed to live with dignity. At least we know they only experienced Love while they were living in our shelter walls. This post is for Brandywine. But it’s impossible to talk about her without also acknowledging the losses experienced this week. Update: Adopted! Baby Sol and her sweet litlte self still waiting for a home!! Sol was found tied up outside the shelter and couldn’t have been happier to be brought inside. She is attending playgroup, has leash tests and we think could be a great option for a family! Update: Adopted! ✨Xena is Magic ✨ She is worth falling in love with. Forever this time. People love to ask: Is the dog good with children? We love to say: Let’s pull our tester kids out of the back kennel & give it a go! Kidding obviously. It is the responsibility of parents to determine if their children & any given dog could be a good match for each other. The responsibility for a respectful relationship cannot possibly be put solely on the shoulders of an animal. That would be silly. But we can say that some lovely parents with kind & respectful children have met Xena & it was beautiful to watch the interaction. 🩵 That family selected another dog who also did well with the children, so our sweet Xena is still available & hoping for her second chance at Forever with a loving family. Xena also clearly was a great sport about being dressed up in @sparkpawsofficial fashion & loved staying warm in her @zoosnoods gear! She was so gentle as she leisurely relished her whipped cream treat! Xena has the potential to do well with respectful children & other respectful dogs.
