A family where children are riding their bikes up and down the sidewalk. Showing kids how to make big messes in the kitchen with mom or getting dirty in the garage helping dad work in the yard. This has been our dream. Adoption was always a part of our dream and have been so fortunate to be chosen as parents twice through adoption. We have no words for this humbling journey of adoption. A little about us:
Our family lives in the Chicago suburbs with our children (18), (6), (4.) Our furry family members include our two cats, and our english bulldog. We found each other through the power of social media and have been married for 11 years. Leslie has always lived in the Illinois and Shawn is an Army transplant from southern Ohio. Currently, we are both working professionals. Shawn is in the Bio-Medical industry and Leslie is a designer in the Remodeling Industry. We are so blessed to have chosen as parents through adoption for our two "littles" and our fingers and toes are crossed to be chosen as parents through adoption again...we so so hope so. Our kiddos are so excited at the prospect of being a big sister and brother. This conversation comes up a lot. They are so excited. To call adoption a blessing to our family is beyond an understatement. Not only have we grown by our two beautiful children, but our family has grown by the addition of their birth families as well. We visit them all and are so blessed to have all of them as well. We hope an expectant mother sees our family as that much more love, hugs, and support. To have siblings to grow and create memories with is something so important to us. We have so much more love to give.
