We received this email 📧 yesterday from a heartbroken owner regarding her cat Luka, an 11y old who is neutered and has all of his claws. It’s a long read but if we can get this boy some shares then perhaps a new home can be found for him.

“Good Afternoon,

I am reaching out with a heavy heart to request your urgent assistance in finding a new, loving home for my senior kitty, Luka (affectionately nicknamed Orange Cat), an 11-year-old ginger tabby. I came across The Critical Animal Relief Foundation while researching cat-centered rescue organizations that facilitate home-to-home fostering and adoptions for kitties with unique needs, and I deeply admire the work you are doing to offer these beloved pets dignified second chances.

Orange Cat is a sensitive and resilient shelter rescue from Austin, TX, who would thrive in a quiet, stress-free home environment with a guardian who is equipped to support a special needs senior cat with chronic health challenges. In addition to being well-behaved, Orange Cat is smart, chirpy, and playful. He has a history of inflammation - primarily, Feline Idiopathic Cystitis (FIC) and Feline Lower Urinary Tract Disease (FLUTD), which require a urinary care vet diet - and since 2022, has developed possible food allergies/intolerances, leading to chronic digestive issues and presumed gastrointestinal disease. The last several months have been the absolute hardest for us healthwise, and I'm heartbroken to share that I can no longer sustainably support and manage his care needs on my own. As a result, it has become increasingly difficult for me to manage my wellness, while continuing to provide the necessary vet care and support that Orange Cat requires. I am deeply concerned for his health and urgently seeking a guardian that can offer the long-term support and stability he deserves.

Please find a few photos attached. I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition and am happy to provide the necessary medical records, prescription diet/medication information, along with personal items to support Orange Cat's adjustment. If there are any steps I need to take or additional information I can provide, please let me know. I would also be grateful for any advice or recommendations you may have regarding the best approach to securing a suitable non-shelter, home-to-home placement. I truly appreciate any immediate assistance or guidance you can offer. Thank you for your time and for the incredible work you do in rescuing and advocating for beloved pets in need.

Calm, cool, collected and GORGEOUS pretty much describes this lovely lady!! She’s the perfect work from home 💻 ☕️ companion and would do just fine as an only cat (although she’s been known to babysit bratty kittens. Call her Mother hen 🐓 if you will).
The perfect age at just a few years old, fully vetted and fostered in Chicago. 🌆

Bear is 5m, neutered and fully vetted 🐈‍⬛. His bestie Kasha is almost 6m, spayed and also fully vetted and would LOVE 💕 to be adopted together!!!
They are fostered in Chicago and haven’t received a single adoption inquiry so let’s get these guys some shares!!!!

FOSTER FOUND

Our stray that was hanging out at the dispensary from yesterday is in need of a foster tomorrow‼️ Huge thanks to Mid North Animal Hospital 🏥 for boarding this dude last minute for us. Several staff members there have already commented on his friendliness so this guy should he easy to place.
If anyone can foster him starting tomorrow we would so appreciate it as he has to be picked up by 1:30p tomorrow. (Foster home preferably in the Chicago area or western suburbs near Elgin/St Charles near our vet partners).

Congrats to Saffron our Aruba 🇦🇼 girl on her adoption!!!! Love the foster fails.
What a difference a little love, physical therapy and purrseverance gets you!!
Thank you Wild Hearts and also to Saffron’s new parents for taking such incredible care of her. Not to mention the friends in Aruba for jumping in and saving her when she was sadly slated for euthanasia after being attacked by a dog, miscarrying her kittens and suffering hind end paralysis.
