Our furry friends seem to love having a new style as much as we do, if these pictures are anything to go by. 🥰

From fresh all-around cuts to trims around the eyes and paw pads, haircuts and groomings are so beneficial to pups. ✂ While they certainly like to preen and show off a new ‘do, taking some of that excess fur off can prevent slipping or accidents due to not being able to see as well as usual. 👀

Plus, they just look too darn cute with a fresh look! 💚🐾

When a furbaby watches out windows, it’s almost like their own form of TV. 📺 The sights of the outside provides a great form of mental stimulation and helps a pet explore their natural instincts such as stalking or surveying their surroundings in a totally safe and comfortable environment! ☺️

Plus, we here at Green Paws think it is adorable getting to see a furbaby react to the world around them. 🥹 Happy Wednesday Green Paws family, and remember to take it as easy as these furry friends when their ‘shows’ are on. 💚🐾

🚨New Client Alert🚨 We think we might have just found the cutest little Chihuahua and Boston Terrier mix in all of Chicago! Everyone give a warm Green Paws welcome to Yuzu! 🍋

Yuzu came all the way from Arkansas, from a very scary home. Here in Chicago, he is having a much better time, loving to give kisses and cuddles to his family. 🥰 He is a sweet little boy, jumping into the air to greet any new friends he meets! 🕴 He loves to walk along the river or on the walkways surrounding the Chicago Tribune building and Gleacher Center. If you happen to see this little man about town, give him a wave from us! 😉

🔎Can you spot the difference🔍 between Bruce, a sweet yet anxious French Bulldog, and the pleading emoji? 🥺

Bruce is quick friends with anyone who gives into his big puppy eyes and feeds him treats when meeting for the first time. 😋 How can anyone resist that face? His Green Paws Pet Care Specialist certainly can’t! 💚🐾

🍫 Did you know that cats can’t taste sweetness? 🤔 Unlike humans and dogs, cats don’t have the receptors needed to taste anything sweet. 🍬 They do, however, have almost as many bitter receptors as we do! It helps them figure out what is toxic and what is tasty. 😋

It’s here at Green Paws, which means another collection of pictures of some of the cutest furbabies in the city showing everyone their tongues! 👅

Did you know that, similar to snakes, dogs and cats can ‘smell’ with their tongues? 🐍 Just like the scaly reptiles, dogs and cats use the Jacobson's organ, which is located within the roofs of their mouths. 😋 In ‘licking’ the air, these animals bring scents from around them to the organ, where it can interpret the smells into information. Just like we use our hands to explore our surroundings, pups and kitties use their tongues! 💚🐾

Our primary focus is on the care of your canine and feline companions, though we’re happy to feed your finned and feathered friends too. We share your belief that our pets are our “fur children” and, as such, give your cat or dog the same love and attention one would give any child. Our dog-focused services include walking, sitting (in your home), boarding (in our home), feeding, medication administration and grooming, including regularly scheduled FURmination to maximize your dog’s comfort and minimize shedding in your home. For our cat clients, we offer companionship visits, litter service, feedings, medication administration and maintenance grooming, including regularly scheduled FURmination to maximize your cat’s comfort and minimize shedding in your home. As indicated by our name, Green Paws Chicago has been a socially conscious, green business since its inception in 2007. We are a paperless business We bike to reach more than 90% of our client’s homes. Our walkers use biodegradable and compostable doggie waste bags. All light bulbs in our office are energy efficient, compact florescent bulbs. We educate our clients about green pet ownership principles, including best practices for food, grooming, litter/pet waste and other topics.
