🚨New Client Alert🚨 Meet Maddie, a beautiful tortoiseshell kitty who is as skittish as she is beautiful! She lets you know when she wants to play by headbutting you, and her favorite toys are tinsel balls that she loves to fetch. 🐾

Maddie is such a pretty girl, and she is a perfect example of either a mosaic tortoiseshell or a tortoiseshell chimera! The only real way to find out if your kitty is a Chimera or a Mosaic is by DNA testing. Chimera cats are kitties that are born as the result of two fused embryos in the womb. This means that one chimera cat can have two sets of DNA! 🧬

Mosaic tortoiseshells, while they can have split faces like Maddie, are a little different. The genes in cats that can cause different fur colors are carried in X chromosomes. Female cats like Maddie carry two X chromosomes, one from each parent, and during embryonic development, one X chromosome is activated in each cell at random, which deactivates the other chromosome that carries the opposite color. With the cells activating at complete random, sometimes these torties can have half-and-half faces like sweet Maddie! 🖤🧡

We here at Green Paws think the best way to workout is to take your pup for a walk, especially these excited pups! 😝 Not only is walking with a dog good for both your and their physical health, it is also healing mentally as well! 😇

Just because these pups have a little more gray in their muzzles doesn’t mean they can’t be just as lively as a puppy! 🐶 November is Adopt a Senior Dog month, and we here at Green Paws want to celebrate all the senior dogs we get the pleasure of taking care of. 🥰

They like to say that an old dog can’t learn new tricks, but if there’s one thing we know for sure is that these old dogs share a whole lotta love with everyone they come across. 💚🐾

🔎Can you spot the difference🔍 between a cuddly teddy bear and our sweet, little Lady? 🧸

Lady is a 14 year old Maltipoo who absolutely adores people, even if in first meetings she can be a bit shy. 🫣 As small as she is, she also has a big personality, especially when it comes to bigger dogs. She doesn’t seem to realize her size, and wants to assert herself whenever a bigger dog gets too close to her people. 😂

Not only is she friendly and feisty, but she’s also very smart! She knows how to peekaboo, give high fives, and stand up on her back legs, almost like a real bear!

Our Green Paws family loves how sweet and cuddly she is, and we think she would be at home in any teddy bear collection with her cute little face and fluffy fur. 💚🐾

Unlike popular superstitions, black cats are far from unlucky. In fact, we here at Green Paws can confirm that they are just as wonderful as every other kitty, and we would love to share all of the black cats we have in our Green Paws family with all of you! 🐈‍⬛🖤

Happy from Green Paws 💚🐾! This week’s fun facts are all about the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel! 🐶

Originally bred to be hunting companions as well as lap dogs, cavaliers come in four different coat types: black and tan, as seen beautifully on Mister Frankie, ruby, tricolor, just like Clara and Louie, and Blenheim, which Miss Kiwi is a stunning example of! 🥰

At the end of World War II, the breed had dwindled down to only six dogs, meaning almost all of the cavaliers you see today are cousins, and share more DNA than littermates of other breeds, including Kiwi, Frankie, Clara, and Louie!😲

Most important fun fact of all, cavaliers are very friendly dogs, and they are the best cuddlers so make sure to give the cavalier in your life a nice snuggle! 🤗

🚨New Client Alert🚨 Our newest pup here in the Green Paws family is one very cute Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Hammy! 🐶

Hammy, while being the sweetest boy ever, is also a certified emotional support pup who has worked at the Ronald McDonald House Charities and at airports. 🥰 He’s a social pup, who may have a bit of new people shyness, but all you have to do to win his heart is to bounce his ball and he will go crazy with excitement! ⚾

He’s also very intellectual🧐, loving to solve his puzzles to work out his mind after working out his body on a fun walk with his Green Paws PCS. 🧩

Our primary focus is on the care of your canine and feline companions, though we’re happy to feed your finned and feathered friends too. We share your belief that our pets are our “fur children” and, as such, give your cat or dog the same love and attention one would give any child.
