We had a little holiday gathering last night with Team Copilot - and turns out we have some hidden pool sharks on our team!! It’s a little wild to think last year at this time we were a team of just 4!

If I’m being honest, it was never my goal when I started Copilot to have a facility and a large team. It sort of happened by accident - the accident being that there are a lot of really, really incredible trainers in Chicago who are working for much less money (and respect) than they are worth. I know this because I was in the same position a few years ago. So when I had extra work, we grew. We grew into a scrappy team of ten people who are talented, fun, engaging, and who love training.

Thanks to Jess, Ronnie, Megan, Susy, Hailey, Alli, Cailin, Ainsley, and Matt (in order of hire!) for being the best team I could ask for ❤️

3 ways to get better recall 🐕

1️⃣ Say it once
Like your living room air purifier clogged with your golden’s hair and always running in the background — repeating your dog’s name and recall cue when they’re not listening turns you into white noise real quick.

2️⃣ Out-fun the environment
Like trying to get someone’s attention when they’re deep into their favorite VPR re-run — you wouldn’t keep standing there being ignored. You’d wave, move, and make it worth looking away.

3️⃣ Build muscle memory first
Like your thumb knowing exactly where the Uber Eats app lives on your home screen — a ton of easy, successful reps inside first makes recall automatic when it actually matters outside.

When we’re not in a training session at Drop-Off, it looks a lot like this — a little QT with your pups & making sure they’re enriched 🥹🩷 Because life shouldn’t be all about obedience! Bonding with your pup is just as important.

🐶 Our puppy program takes place once a week on Wednesdays, while teen Drop-Off is on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

This isn’t your average daycare set up. Your dog has a mix of training geared towards their specific goals, confidence building, enrichment, and play.

Our goal is that they come home to you after a structured day feeling calm, and ready to rest.

Our holiday Toy Swap was another reminder of why we love this community so much 💝

📣 Crouton wants to remind everybody about our holiday toy swap on Saturday, 12/6! Join us any time between 9:30 AM and 12 PM. Bring a new or gently used toy to swap. It doesn’t need to be wrapped!

Two awesome vendors are also joining us! Come shop with and for the cutest stuff for your pup.

We’ll also be having a pet food drive so feel free to bring something to add. 20% of proceeds from our shop during the party also goes towards the drive!

⚠️ This is a dog friendly event, we just ask folks to be discerning about if your pup is a good match for a busy event with other pups on leash. Questions or not sure? Reach out! Please feel free to come and swap without your pup!!
