Check out this video! This was one of my best dogs (Belgian Malinois) This is a 4 1/2 minute video of mainly obedience. In this video, Gage is completely "naked" which means NO COLLAR OF ANY SORT. (so of course no leash) You will hear him being commanded in English, German, French, as well as hand signals. Enjoy!

The weather is going to be getting nice (consistently) very soon! Nice weather brings out owners walking their dogs, children riding bikes, skateboards, scooters, etc. Don't wait until your dog has developed "issues" try to get them into training prior to the many distractions that you and your canine companion will inevitably face/come across in your everyday life. It's really cold outside here in Chicago! Make sure your keeping an eye on your dogs feet during walks (especially when you come inside, be sure to get the salt off of their feet) But remember, dogs need their exercise, even in this weather! Mental stimulation is different than physical stimulation! So with cold days like these, it's always good to work on obedience commands inside the house! ❤️

Christmas is almost here!!! While I VERY much discourage people giving animals as gifts (for any holiday and an abundance of reasons) it does still happen!!! Soooooo..... Considering I know (at least by myself) that I cannot make a difference in that fact, what I can do is offer the knowledge for the (possibly new) dog owners and of course offer training for dog/puppy that they have! Check out this video!!! This is Gage demonstrating a high level of obedience training. He was trained in English, German, French as well as hand signals. In this video he is completely "naked" which means he has on NO collar NO leash whatsoever. Not everyone needs this level of control on their dog however, it shows you what your dog is capable of achieving with proper obedience training, a dedication from you (dogs owner/handlers)
By achieving this level of obedience on your dog, you are giving them more freedom than you probably ever thought was possible..... You can take your dog anywhere, whether it be a state park/open field/hiking/walking a trail through the woods, taking them in stores with you grocery shopping, walking them late at night and not having to worry (Gage was also fully protection trained and I have many videos on YouTube of him working in that area as well). Enjoy the video, be sure to watch until the end and remember.... Eros, clients American Staffordshire Terrier that was here for a board and train. He just went home! This is a short video of him grocery shopping with me at Jewel Osco. Here at All Purpose Dogs, we put a very strong obedience foundation on our dogs. We teach them commands (that they are expected to perform the 1st time command is given) We also bring them in as many new environments, locations, stores, etc as we possibly can. We expose them to as much as we possibly can so that when they go home and encounter real life situations, they have pretty much already seen/been exposed and worked/trained in those situations.... Setting them up for a higher success rate 😊😊😊 We also make sure that we train the owners as well!!!! 😉 As you may know, the owners usually need the most training 😉

Yes, this was Gage holding a hot dog in his mouth. He was commanded "Take it-Stay" I also had him "out" the hot dog and then "bring it" back to me. THAT IS OBEDIENCE! That is the level of control that you should and can very well have over your own dog. To be able to hold food (and not just a bland dog treat) in their mouth without gobbling it down..... Also to release the food (and not think they are being rewarded and eat the food) and then to pick that same tasty smelly hot dog up off the ground and hold it gently enough in their mouth to retrieve it back to you..... That takes training and control work to a whole new level.... If your dog could accomplish THAT.... Then everything else would seem pretty easy 😉
