Hand drawn & painted from a favorite photo using a special artistic technique that captures the unique personality of your pet! They are the two short and hairy males that changed my life…for the better. Elliott - a sweet, 8 pound, extremely intelligent black and white Papillon, and also my first four-legged love; Cooper – an energetic, animated, personality overflowing, ruby Cavalier King Charles

Spaniel, and my soul mate in canine form…both of these boys have shown me what’s truly important in life: being yourself, living in the moment, small wins are big wins and should make you just as happy, simply enjoying life to the fullest every single day and especially, loving unconditionally. But what does that have to do with inspiring art? Some artists know practically from birth what they are, while others take longer to grow into their artist pants. In either case, all artists need to be inspired in order to spark creativity – it’s impossible to truly be free to create without motivation and reason behind it. Motivation stimulates creativity. I am one of the artists who knew from birth what I was. While I have a variety of inspirations for other art that I do (you can check out my sculptures, paintings, photography and more at www.deborahervin.com), the love and the life that I have had because of Cooper and Elliott enables me to create these pet portraits. They are my inspiration. I see in other pet owners their love and devotion - dogs, cats, birds, hamsters…pets of all species are family - it makes me smile and I want to capture that feeling in an image that is as unique as the love and their pet. No two animals or relationships are the same, artwork is that way too! We’ll create a custom, one-of-a-kind piece of original art, in the style that suites you and your pet, from one of your favorite photographs. All art is hand drawn and painted using two different artistic techniques. Don’t have a pet, but like a certain breed? I'm so thankful to have so many wonderful humans and canines in my life. You all have unconditionally supported my Mommy and me through friendship, our Inspired by Cooper & Elliott work, prayers (sadly we Super Coopers tend to need them more than most), and so much more. We are so blessed. I'd be even more grateful if this hat or my toy was an actual turkey. But, Mommy said I shouldn't think about what I don't have, and instead think about how lucky I am for what I do have. She's smart that way. But...I would still like to have a piece of turkey. Happy Thanksgiving!

Cooper Update!

Hi everyone, Cooper here. I’m just chillin’ here on Aunt Marie's sofa and feeling much better. The test results are in from Texas A&M and it seems like we have some good news for a change! Although Mommy was not so sure for the past few days.

I had another cPLI test. They like it to be under 200 and my first one was 289 at my vet’s. On Friday Mommy got a call from my Vet who said that the sample sent to be tested at Texas A&M came back at 1005. cPL stands for canine pancreatic lipase. It’s a substance produced in the pancreas that can be measured in my blood to help diagnose pancreatitis. Additionally, I had a trypsin-like immunoreactivity (TLI) blood test that measures my pancreatic function. It was also elevated. Lastly the other concerning issue was that my B12 was rather low. My vet wanted to do some research over the weekend as he felt he may have misinterpreted something with the TLI and before he said more wanted to make sure. He talked about intestinal overgrowth and how my pancreatic enzymes are not digesting right. That I may be someone who has chronic pancreatitis and all we can do right now is the low-fat diet…which I have been on for years. It’s when I decide to indulge in those extras without it being offered to me that gets me in trouble. Of course, that put Mommy on edge, and she had the big Jingle Pawty photoshoot…so she was a little off her game with concern for me. Meanwhile, I had fun at the pawty!

So, last night my doc called Mommy (so great that he took the time to call in the evening!). He said he did some research, and he feels that since I am acting more like Cooper (who else would I act like?) : eating and pooping (Mom says it is beautiful) and not vomiting and not lethargic and I haven’t lost any more weight, he doesn’t feel we need to be concerned with the high numbers. It’s more important with how I am acting now and showing I am on the mend. I do need to start taking Cobalamin (Vitamin B12), which we picked up today. It seems odd to since I typically get meat, fish or eggs with my meals and those things have B12 naturally. But apparently B12 deficiency can include chronic gastrointestinal diseases, which pancreatic issues fall into. I’ll be on it for several weeks and will have all these tests repeated.

I just wanted to say thank you all for sending me out the best prayers, well wishes, thoughts and vibes. I KNOW they made a difference. Not only for me, but for my Mommy. She has been blaming herself and it wasn’t her fault. I just really wanted that sandwich and fries. She was also told by my one doctor in the city that she shouldn’t have given me hydrogen peroxide to induce vomiting. My other doctor in the burbs didn’t have an issue with it. But, of course because of what the other doctor said, Mommy kept wondering if that caused this ongoing issue. She has carried an unopened bottle with her for years, with a syringe for a “just in case”. And she has always given the precise amount recommended by weight. Fortunately, no other dogs in her care have needed it. But I on the other paw, have used it several times throughout my 12 years. And she replaces the bottle after she opens it. We should have bought stock in it.

I’m now sitting here wondering…since I had tests at Texas A&M and seem to have passed (maybe not with flying colors, but I still passed), does that mean I am a college graduate? Do I get a diploma? Do they take it away if I get another bout of pancreatitis? Am I an Aggie?

This is a very special Inspired by Cooper & Elliott Beyond Pet painting. You see, the two subjects of this painting never got to meet in life… but I have a feeling they knew each other through their mutual bond. The beautiful canine’s human mom tried for years to get pregnant. Her fur love had been beside her through the difficulties, always comforting her. At last, the mom fell pregnant, and it was a joyous time. But tragedy struck when a few months before the birth, her faithful fur love was taken away by a tragic, fluke accident. A dear friend of the mom planned to have this special painting done. While it is meant to be her shower gift, she needed to have the baby born and be old enough for some photos for this creation. Her idea was to have the little human and her fur angel in the same portrait together, so it could hang in the nursery. I just thought this was a wonderful idea. Dogs change our lives in ways some could never imagine. This mom had such a special bond with her soul mate dog, that in my mind I imagine that during the last couple of months of her pregnancy, the souls of these two met and spent time together. The baby knew how special the dog was to their mom, and the dog knew how much the mom loved and needed this baby…especially now that they were gone. It’s how I picture it, and that is what I was thinking when I painted this. I wanted them to have a special connection, one where both are happy, the dog is protective, the baby feels safe and they are both looking out at their mom with love. I am told that the mom absolutely loved the gift and I am so honored to have been asked to create it.

The Greater Chicago Cavalier Rescue Jingle Pawty is TOMMORROW! Woot! Woot! Cooper was helping to work on the set and said we should give everyone a sneak peek. Cooper knows best, so here it is!

The photo sitting fee is $30 for one Cavalier; $10 to add a 2nd Cavalier; and $5 each to add a 3rd or more Cavaliers. NOTE: additional Cavaliers in same sitting must be from
the SAME household, otherwise, it’s a separate sitting fee. Payment must be made at the time of the shoot. We accept Zelle, Venmo, Cash or check payment (sorry no CC).
