Inspired by Cooper & Elliott Custom original artwork of your one-of-a-kind pet! Our company name is more than “just a name”, it states why it exists! But who are Cooper & Elliott? Everything.

Hand drawn & painted from a favorite photo using a special artistic technique that captures the unique personality of your pet! They are the two short and hairy males that changed my life…for the better. Elliott - a sweet, 8 pound, extremely intelligent black and white Papillon, and also my first four-legged love; Cooper – an energetic, animated, personality overflowing, ruby Cavalier King Charles

Spaniel, and my soul mate in canine form…both of these boys have shown me what’s truly important in life: being yourself, living in the moment, small wins are big wins and should make you just as happy, simply enjoying life to the fullest every single day and especially, loving unconditionally. But what does that have to do with inspiring art? Some artists know practically from birth what they are, while others take longer to grow into their artist pants. In either case, all artists need to be inspired in order to spark creativity – it’s impossible to truly be free to create without motivation and reason behind it. Motivation stimulates creativity. I am one of the artists who knew from birth what I was. While I have a variety of inspirations for other art that I do (you can check out my sculptures, paintings, photography and more at www.deborahervin.com), the love and the life that I have had because of Cooper and Elliott enables me to create these pet portraits. They are my inspiration. I see in other pet owners their love and devotion - dogs, cats, birds, hamsters…pets of all species are family - it makes me smile and I want to capture that feeling in an image that is as unique as the love and their pet. No two animals or relationships are the same, artwork is that way too! We’ll create a custom, one-of-a-kind piece of original art, in the style that suites you and your pet, from one of your favorite photographs. All art is hand drawn and painted using two different artistic techniques. Don’t have a pet, but like a certain breed? Meet Black Lab Yogi Bear as an Inspired by Cooper & Elliott custom pet painting. This beautiful girl was born in Feb 2010, and found her furever home in July 2010. She enjoyed walks and was a gentle giant who believed she was a lap dog. Yogi Bear loved her moms Kayla and Anne – and the feeling was mutual. She also loved her siblings…a Beagle named Lucy, and 3 cat brothers. Sadly, in September 2023 Yogi Bear made her journey to the rainbow bridge. Leaving her family heartbroken. Her gramma Kathy commission me to create this special Christmas present for her daughter. Her mom sent me a personal note saying how much she loved it and that it was the best present she has ever received. What an amazing compliment! The Holocaust didn’t happen overnight. It didn’t start with the gas chambers. It started with politics. It started with “us and them”. It grew from hatred that slowly developed from words that poisoned and brainwashed the minds of groups and individuals, to unfathomable actions and crimes.

80 years ago, today, the survivors of Auschwitz were liberated. While thankful that there were survivors, the Holocaust was something that should never have happened. Never. No one person or group should ever have been able to influence with such hatred. But it did happen, there is no denying it.

We must always remember these lost souls and their extreme suffering, and those who survived the horror. We must strive to ensure that it NEVER EVER happens again. No human on earth is better or worse than another based on their religion, their political views, the amount of money they have, the color of their skin, their race, their gender or their sexual orientation. We are all created equal by God and no human is greater than God. Cooper says don’t forget that.

Meet Brody, a young, energetic Golden Doodle from Chicagoland who just moved into a new doghouse. His Mom’s amazing realtor commissioned this Inspired by Cooper & Elliott custom pet portrait of him to gift her client for the home sale closing day (she’s one truly thoughtful real estate broker!). And it was a hit! Her client was touched and loves it. I’m so happy I could be a part of helping to make this special day even more so. Meet Gentry a beautiful black English Lab and sister Shih Tzu Lily is a Shih Tzu from Texas. Gentry is all about retrieving (hence the prize in her mouth) and swimming in the pool. Lily is independent and barks to show you what she wants or needs. She’s a tease, because she wants you to notice her, but try to pick her up and she runs the other way. Not your typical duo, they are quite the pair together and are very bonded. Treasured by their human family, their grandmother commissioned this special Inspired by Cooper & Elliott custom pet painting of them. Dear Elliott:

Here we are again. It’s January 10th – my least favorite day of the year. But the only thing that matters to me on this day is acknowledging you. You were nearly 15 years old when you left and today marks 15 years since you’ve been gone. 15 years since I last held you in my arms, since you took your last breaths…breaths that when they stopped took a piece of my soul with you. My grief was all consuming then, and I still mourn you a decade and a half later. But it’s because I loved you so much and that you brought me so much happiness, that I will always feel the pain of your absence. I wouldn’t change a moment of our life together, even if it meant that I would no longer feel grief.

Elliott, you were born on my birthday in 1995 - we were simply meant to be…soul mates. Our travels together took us through lots of happiness, intermittent sadness, many moves, dates and boyfriends. No length of time would ever have been enough. I will miss you until my heart stops beating and we are reunited.

I truly believed I would/could never love another dog again. I heard your phantom footsteps in our home and couldn’t even look at other dogs out for a walk. But somehow, your life with me and your body’s need to leave, was ground zero for a new journey that has changed my life and touched countless others.

While you were never a fan of other canines, I know it was you who made sure that God created the ideal formula of the perfect companion for me. It took 2 ½ years after your departure for the Rainbow Bridge, but you knew when I was ready (even though I didn’t know). I was still grieving you, as I do today, but you knew that loving another dog wouldn’t mean I had forgotten you. You knew that my heart had so much more love to give...even though I wasn’t completely convinced.

My dear Elliott, all because of you: I have Cooper in my life and he brings smiles to countless faces through his adventures; I have a company (which includes your name Inspired by Cooper & Elliott) where I get to create art that has helped heal hurting hearts and bring smiles to pet owners; I have taken thousands of photographs because I am able to am “talk” to dogs to get the right shot; and I have been so fortunate to spend my days doggy au pairing for the most wonderful fur babies. All of this brings more happiness into the world and into my heart. It’s all happening because you, my little, intelligent, handsome Papillon boy.

So yes, you have now been gone as long as you lived, but you have never left my heart or head. You will always be a part of me. You changed my world since the first day we met – you started it all and are my inspiration. Thank you, my sweet Elliott, for coming into my life and inspiring me in so many ways.

Cooper takes after his mom...he gets so excited for the stop-motion Christmas specials! This one is second only to "The Year without a Santa Claus". My favorite line in this one is pretty much anything the Winter Warlock says...especially when he says, "I really am a mean and despicable creature at heart, you know. It's so difficult to... really change."...but mostly the line, "I'm not such a loser after all!" He's hilarious.
