Hand drawn & painted from a favorite photo using a special artistic technique that captures the unique personality of your pet! They are the two short and hairy males that changed my life…for the better. Elliott - a sweet, 8 pound, extremely intelligent black and white Papillon, and also my first four-legged love; Cooper – an energetic, animated, personality overflowing, ruby Cavalier King Charles

Spaniel, and my soul mate in canine form…both of these boys have shown me what’s truly important in life: being yourself, living in the moment, small wins are big wins and should make you just as happy, simply enjoying life to the fullest every single day and especially, loving unconditionally. But what does that have to do with inspiring art? Some artists know practically from birth what they are, while others take longer to grow into their artist pants. In either case, all artists need to be inspired in order to spark creativity – it’s impossible to truly be free to create without motivation and reason behind it. Motivation stimulates creativity. I am one of the artists who knew from birth what I was. While I have a variety of inspirations for other art that I do (you can check out my sculptures, paintings, photography and more at www.deborahervin.com), the love and the life that I have had because of Cooper and Elliott enables me to create these pet portraits. They are my inspiration. I see in other pet owners their love and devotion - dogs, cats, birds, hamsters…pets of all species are family - it makes me smile and I want to capture that feeling in an image that is as unique as the love and their pet. No two animals or relationships are the same, artwork is that way too! We’ll create a custom, one-of-a-kind piece of original art, in the style that suites you and your pet, from one of your favorite photographs. All art is hand drawn and painted using two different artistic techniques. Don’t have a pet, but like a certain breed? On August 29, 2005 Hurricane Katrina struck the Gulf Coast of the United States. The storm itself did a great deal of damage, but the aftermath was catastrophic. Nearly 2,000 people perished in her wrath and subsequent floods and hundreds of thousands of people in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama were displaced from their homes. Today 19 years later, and always, Inspired by Cooper & Elliott Cooper & I remember. We pray that the lives lost during this disaster have found peace, those who survived have been able to move on and/or rebuild with life being all that it should be, and that when natural disasters of this magnitude happen again we are completely prepared – we can not prevent mother nature, but we can prevent unnecessary deaths and provide proper and quick aid. We honor the memory of this day by celebrating the great city of New Orleans; eat well, listen to great jazz, be happy, live life.

Happy National Dog Day to my #1 guy. Of course every day is "Dog Day" for us. We get to spend time with so many dog friends! Cooper and I got to spend the last couple of days having some one-on-one time though. I love getting to do that!

August 19th is World Photography Day!

Inspired by Cooper & Elliott Cooper spends his time "in front" of the camera and his Mommy (me!) spends her time behind it - when I’m not painting a custom pet painting.

After leaving Bailey and Bingo yesterday afternoon, we hung out for the evening at Bubby's with his pals Sienna (Si Si) and Lou. Cooper and I left this morning to hang out with Willow at her dog house for a few days. The bottom photo is what they all thought of us leaving LOL.

55 years ago today marked the making of a cultural phenomenon. One that truly has not been duplicated (in terms of a large peaceful gathering); one from which, that in today's climate, we could learn a lot. Woodstock took place August 15-18, 1969. It was one of the biggest rock festivals of all time. It was also a peaceful protest - it truly was! Nearly a half a million young people attended, and they lived in peace for 3 days. Imagine…there were no visible forms of security, they worked together to share food and shelter, and they enjoyed the moment!! What a remarkable event in so many ways. 25 years ago on its 30th anniversary, there was Woodstock ’99. It tried to emulate the original, but it was marred by violence, sexual assault, allegations of r**e, looting, and fires. Shameful. And now in 2024 people must be concerned while attending church, the mall, and school, let alone any type of large music gathering. It IS possible to turn back the hands of time. We need not give up technology or other advantages made over the past 55 years, but we could remember to embrace and practice simple concepts: be kind to your fellow man, don’t be hateful, don’t fear different skin color/ethnicity/sexual preferences, spread love and peace!
