Dear Sandy,
I miss and love you very much. Thank you for giving me the most love I have ever received. My heart was so full from all the care you gave me, and for the first time in my life, I felt like someone truly cared about me. I know how sad you were when I left, but please know I was so happy. You made my life brighter than I ever thought it could be.
I wish we could have had more time together here on earth, but I’ll always be with you - in spirit and in your heart. I saw you picking off the ornaments of every black cat from the Santa Paws tree at Famous Fido Rescue, and it made me so proud of you. You are helping so many of my friends through the holidays, giving them the love and care they need, just like you gave to me.
You are such a special person, Sandy. Thank you for helping Mable, Puffin, Lucky, Misty, Panther, Caroline, Jasper, Martha, Syrup, and Grey, too. To anyone reading this, I hope you’ll visit Famous Fido Rescue and take an ornament from the Santa Paws tree. At Famous Fido Rescue, we’re pouring our hearts into our educational programs, and we’re excited to share our progress with you. Our campaign, “The Ultimate Betrayal,” is at the forefront of our efforts to inspire a shift in how people view animals. We want to challenge people to think twice about abandoning their companions and help them truly understand the trauma animals endure in shelters - whether they are no-kill rescues or kill centers.
But our mission doesn’t stop there. We’re dedicated to expanding our Intervention Program to break the heartbreaking cycle of abandonment. This means going beyond rescue - we’re investing in community resources to tackle the root causes of animal relinquishment.
Many people face barriers like unaffordable vet care, housing instability, and a lack of access to training guidance. We’re here to offer counseling, support, and resources to help families keep their companions at home, where they belong. Our ultimate goal? To prevent animals from ever needing to enter a shelter or rescue.
