We are so proud of Chuck, he is so much to us…husband, daddy, Poppa, and the greatest cow-man we know! Truly a cattleman through and through. He knows cattle and enjoys working with them and loves the land. Here he is today working calves and this weekend he will be brought in as the Alabama Cattlemens President.

We just got great news that 30D3 is safe in calf to Abstract. The crew at Bickett Genetics has taken great care of our donors this year and we are appreciative of their efforts in getting 30E48 and 30D3 AI’ed. They will now be set up for three IVF’s before coming home for the summer.

We just finished our last flush for this cycle on 579C. We calve our cows in September and October. We then puill our elite donors and flush usually 6 times and then breed them back to calve. They will calve every 2 years. This illustrious donor has done it all this year. In 6 flushes, we transferred 45 embryos and froze 86 embryos for an average of 22/flush. She made 33 pregnancies from fresh transfers and 8 pregnancies from frozen embryos.

She sold a $15,000 bull, Gladiator in the spring sale to Grayson Springs Cattle and L&L Gelbvieh. She sold 6 bulls for $4966 average. She also sold 20 embryos for a $460 average.

She will now be bred back to calve next September and the cycle returns. She has possibly been the most prolific donor here and will record over 75 calves in the last 3 years. As an added bonus, we flushed her Copperfield daughter, 965G, last fall and she now has 12 Finnegan calves on the ground. This cow truly has earned her elite status.
