Curl up and cuddle with wonderfully sweet kitties in a relaxing, themed cafe-style environment. These are all adoptable cats and kittens from local rescues who need a forever home! If the cuteness overload works up your thirst, we’ve partnered with a cat-tastic coffee roaster to provide you

with a delicious custom roast that you will love. Since we don’t prepare food or drinks inside our space, you don’t have to worry -- our place is clean, safe, and all about the kitties. As Chico’s only cat cafe, we at Chico Cat Cafe are incredibly delighted to bring the cat experience concept to the North State for the first time! 🌸 Meet Flower – Blooming with Personality and “Flower Power”! 🌸

Once a quiet wallflower, Flower has truly blossomed in the café this past week—and wow, has she found her voice! This 4-month-old dilute tabico is now delightfully chatty and engaging, trotting up to say hello with her soft mews and curious gaze. She’s proof that sometimes all it takes is a little time and a lot of love for a shy sprout to become a blooming beauty.

With her pastel coat and gentle eyes, Flower is as pretty as her name suggests—but her personality is what makes her unforgettable. She loves to “talk” with her people, purring and chirping as if she has stories to share about her day. And when she’s not chatting? She’s exploring, batting toys, and playing right alongside her kitten pals, then curling up nearby to keep a watchful, affectionate eye on the action.

Flower’s heart is as soft as her fur. She’s wonderfully patient with gentle children, has done well living with other cats, and while dogs give her a moment of pause, she’s open to befriending them with time and kindness. She’s not yet the type to leap into arms without warning, but once she decides you’re “hers,” she’ll lean in with trust and affection that melts your heart.

🌙 As we prepare for our café move, Flower is open to a short-term camp-out sleepover—a cozy foster home where she can continue to blossom—or better yet, a permanent forever home where she can plant her roots for good.

Rescued alongside her sisters Laverne and Shirley during a TNR project in Oroville (the very same place our café kittens Poppy and Kiwi came from!), this 4-month-old calico cutie has been given the chance to grow up safe, loved, and ready for a forever home of her very own.

🐾 Kat-arina isn’t just beautiful—though with her patchwork calico coat and bright, curious eyes, she certainly turns heads. She’s also independent, adventurous, and full of personality. While her sisters often stick together, Kat-arina beats to her own drummer. She’s the first to investigate a new box, leap into the crinkly tunnel, or scale the cat tree with the grace of a little mountaineer. Her playful spirit is contagious—you’ll often find her darting after a toy mouse or inventing games only she knows the rules to.

But don’t let her sass and sparkle fool you—beneath the explorer’s heart is a snuggly little soul who adores human companionship. When the play winds down, Kat-arina will circle back, purring steadily as she curls beside you, content to soak up your love with the sweetest sighs. Sprout’s story began during a large TNR project in Oroville, where he and his siblings surprised everyone by walking right up to rescuers instead of hiding. From day one, it’s been clear—this sweet boy was meant to be loved. His brothers and sisters have already planted themselves into forever homes, and now it’s Sprout’s turn to grow where he’s most cherished.

At 5 months old, Sprout is the perfect mix of curious and cuddly. Though he started off a little shy in the lounge, he’s really “sprouted” into his own—learning from the other cats, playing in silly bursts of kitten zoomies, and then collapsing into the coziest nap piles like a pro.

We’re not closing… we’re just turning the page. ✨

After three incredible years, 300+ adoptions, countless cuddles, and memories that will last a lifetime, it’s time to say goodbye to our cozy café house and prepare for our move into the next chapter of our story...

Join us on Sunday, September 21st from 3–5pm for a short and sweet community celebration:

📖 A “Wall of Fame” honoring past adoptions and happy endings
💌 Love Letters to Café Cats — send us a note about your adopted café cat (or a cat you met here and love from afar), and we’ll display it during the party! (Bring one in person, email ahead, or write one at the event.)

🐾💛 Adorable alert: our PAWP-UP Adoption Faire is officially underway! 💛🐾

If you’ve been waiting for the perfect day to meet your new best friend—this is it. Our partners at Neighborhood Cat Advocates have brought some of the sweetest kittens (and a few wonderful adult cats) in the county right here to Chico Cat Café for our Kitten PAWP-UP ADOPTION FAIRE!

And with our cozy lounge already home to a dozen cats and kittens of its own, the cuteness factor today is officially off the charts. 😻

📍 Where: Chico Cat Café – 1725 Esplanade
⏰ When: TODAY, Sunday, September 14th • 11am–3pm

🐱 Why this matters: Kitten season this year has been overwhelming—hundreds, if not thousands, of unplanned litters across our county. Neighborhood Cat Advocates works tirelessly to make a difference through TNR, spay/neuter, and rescue.

Since partnering with us last fall, more than 80 cats and kittens have found forever homes through the café. Today, we get to celebrate that ongoing mission together—and hopefully add even more happy endings to the story.

✨ Why you should come:
Because there’s nothing like the feeling of meeting a kitten who chooses you.
Because our adult café cats deserve a chance to be seen and loved, too.
Because every adoption makes space for another life to be saved.

💛 Not ready to adopt? That’s okay—you can still help in a huge way. As we prepare to move into our new space, we need loving homes to host some of our café cats for short-term “kitty sleepovers.” Think of it as babysitting a café cat: you provide the lap and the love, we’ll provide the backpack of supplies. It’s temporary, it’s meaningful, and it might just turn into the happiest kind of foster fail.

💫 Walk-ins welcome! For just $10 per person, you’ll enjoy an hour of cat lounge time, light refreshments, and the chance to connect with some of the most affectionate, playful, and lovable cats around.

Love kittens? This rescue partner has some of the coolest kittens in the neighborhood! Neighborhood Cat Advocates, is POPPING with kittens!! So…what does a cat café do when faced with this crisis of cuteness???? We hold a Kitten PAWP-UP ADOPTION FAIRE!

WHERE: Chico Cat Café 1725 Esplanade in Chico
WHEN: SUNDAY, September 14th from 11am-3pm

HELP US CELEBRATE NEIGHBORHOOD CAT ADVOCATE’S WORK:
Neighborhood Cat Advocates will be showcasing the CUTEST selection of kittens (and a few wonderful adult cats) in our cat lounge in addition to the 12 + cats and kittens already calling our cozy space their temporary home.

Neighborhood Cat Advocates's mission is to advocate on behalf of Butte County's free-roaming cats by practicing Trap-Neuter-Return. Starting off as a TNR community support service, they have now expanded to include PawPrints Spay/Neuter Clinic and PawPrints Thrift Boutique! They have started to partner with us to help place their friendly TNR kitties into pawsome homes and have adopted 80+ cats through the cafe since last fall! Come down and meet them and their kittens - let's help them place these needy kitties into amazing cat-loving homes!

This Kitten season has been a doozy – it has produced hundreds, if not thousands, of unplanned litters and in partnership to help find the perfect homes for these fantastic young felines in our community, we’re hosting this event this summer for them. All felines are friendly, vaccinated (initial doses), dewormed, deflea-ed, spayed/neutered, and microchipped.

HOW DOES THE EVENT WORK?
During our event, we will NOT be having folks reserve a spot in the cat lounge. So, walk-ins are welcome! $10 per person gets you an hour of cat time and light refreshments.

All kittens and their bios will be showcased on our website at www.chicocatcafe.com AND our page (see this post pinned to the top of the page). Adoption fees are $150 per kitten or $225 pair.

If you are interested in adopting, please observe the following:
1. Pick up an application at Chico Cat Café located at 1725 Esplanade in Chico. Fill out ASAP and return so we may get it to our rescue in time for the event to “pre-approve” you after visiting the kittens online! -OR-
2. NCA will be accepting applications on site for review the week following the event. They will be reaching out to applicants for interviews and potential adoptions as soon as they can! They will not be approving same-day adoptions.
3. Kittens and cats available for adoption through the event will be waiting to meet you in giant kitten cages once you get inside. Cats who are residents of the cafe will be loose roaming around on our floor.
4. Please ask to hold event kittens and cats, sanitize your hands prior to handling them and in between to help ensure everyone's safety, and please don't put them down on the floor with the cafe cats - THANK YOU 🥰

Meet Sprout!

Don't know HOW we missed posting about this little seedling, but he certainly can't be missed!

Found during a large TNR project in Oroville, Sprout was a member of a sweet 4-pack of 5-month-old siblings that didn’t act like typical feral kittens. Instead of hiding, they came right up like they'd been waiting their whole short lives for someone to notice them. So our rescue did. They scooped them up, placed them in loving foster homes, and watched them bloom.

Now, Sprout is ready to plant roots in his forever home— his siblings were all adopted through the café!—with purrs, playtime, and plenty of personality to go around.

💫 Meet this guy:

🌱 Sprout - Black + White | 5-month-old Male

Although he's been hiding out keeping a low profile since he's landed here in the lounge, the other cats have really "grown" on him! He's out now and enjoys spurts where he plays hard and konks out equally hard.

Sprout is a certified cutie-patootie and professional house “helper.” Whether you’re folding laundry, cooking dinner, or just trying to answer emails, he’s there—offering tiny high-fives and very important meows of approval. His ideal love language? Being held nonstop and enjoying gourmet wet food like it’s his job (because, frankly, it is)

Come in and visit with Sprout - maybe you'll want to nab him for a short-term kitty sleepover pal while we wait to move into our new space OR even adopt him into your heart and life😻🐈‍⬛🏠
