Welcome to our giant Adoptions Ameowncements post! We have been SUPER busy the last few months, and while we have not been able to post as is customary after each adoption, we have been hard at work on our mission, finding beautiful souls their forever homes. So, without further ado, here are the 20 sweet kitty souls we have found (or better said, THEY have found) homes for since mid-November:
Alfred #228
Sweet and squishy Alfred, or as I have called him, Sir Alfred the Squishmellow, is THE ultimate cuddle monster. It’s easy to love a cat who wants nothing more than to hang with you on your supercouch and purr out his love for you. Alfred, with his tender heart and oh so soft fur, won the heart of Ellie, who was looking for a Netflix and Chill cat who would greet her with cuddles.
McDreamy #229
For the Superfans of Gray’s, he really IS as dreamy as his namesake. McDreamy has it all: intelligence, dashing beacon of a silvery coat, charisma, savoir-faire (he has a way both with asking for treats AND melting hearts)…holding a captive audience, entrancing everyone with a swish of his tail as he sashays into the room OWNING it. Rachel and her family bought his act and have never looked back.
Gotham #230
There is nothing dark about this guy – Gotham, with his symmetrical single white whiskers and his kind face, likes life at a low and slow pace. While cautiously optimistic here in the lounge, he has blossomed into a quiet and calm influence on the other cats. As Brooke discovered while visiting with him, once you unlock his trust, he reveals his huge heart and unwavering devotion.
Toby #231
Toby (To-Beast as I like to call him) is the coolest, self-effacing guy who knows how to turn-on the old school charm with slow blinks, nose-nudges and near-silent purrs. Just the kind of cat Valerie and Walter were looking for when he decided to direct his charm their way when they visited. It is hard to pass up a gentlemanly purr beast who just wants to give love.
Angel + Jensen #232 & #233
These two gingers were 2 of 5 “Ballpark” kitties found languishing at Jensen Park in Willows, found up a tree hanging on for dear life! What a ragged bunch they were BUT with love and awesome fosters these kitties grew into quite the playful crew. Angel got attention from Kayla, who felt like she hit a homerun once she discovered this ginger was a girl and the fluffy s***kmeister playing with her was her brother.
Goldie + Penelope #234 & #235
Two sisters trying like mad to survive alone outside of the Penny Ranch store in Chico, Goldie and Penelope had a rough start in life. Since then, the two girls have become the biggest, most friendly lap surfers we have seen in ages. They have been inseparable, cuddling, playing and wrestling (hey, they are sisters after all!) together. It was just their unshakable bond that attracted Jason to them – once a cat chooses your heart, you have to let them in.
Clark + Caitlin #236 & 237
Clark and his siblings were born in a cat carrier en route to the vet! Their mama had a spay appointment that morning BUT the babies had other plans. Mama was a TNR catch off River Road outside of Chico and the babies absolutely thrived in their foster homes. If you happen to lock eyes with them like Julia did, you’d better look out because these recent grads of Kitty Charm School won’t let you leave without bringing them home!
Ember #238
Uber-affectionate snugglenugglet Ember was THE happiest cat we have seen to date: happy to play, happy to eat, happy to meet guests and lounge mates – just dang happy to be there and have a chance at life. Found wandering the streets of downtown Willows, I think she was happy to have the opportunity to finally matter to someone. And matter she did, because Katherine loved her s***k and joy and snatched her up quickly.
Fenway #239
Can you tell he was part of the “Ballpark” kitties found languishing at Jensen Park in Willows? Fenway may have been found living in a tree BUT that hasn’t stopped his zest for life: Fenway has the heart of a lion and has been the most demanding snuggler who CRAVES attention. This white guy won’t leave you alone until you give him kisses and scritches, as Marifren discovered when she visited. One snuggle session and she is taking him home – no strike outs for Fenway.
Cinders #240
Cinders and sis BeBe were found in a filthy box on the side of the road on Highway 32, clearly left to starve. Once pulled from the dusty box and placed into their foster home, they quickly became loving and frisky little girls. Cinders wants to be heard the most, as she is very vocal and lets you know when she needs something. Olivia heard her and spoke to her need of a home and love of a human who loves little feisty girl cats.
Goose + Tortuga #241 & 242
These sisters were found dumped in a box on I-5 as sick and fragile kittens, lethargic, dehydrated and with eye infections. Once fostered, they became full of life and energy. Goose preferred to lap surf, while Tortuga frolicked and played with enough energy for both. Natalie came in, fresh from a breakup, and saw Tortuga in action. Goose’s sweet and soft affection sealed the deal. Two sisters, one heart and one home.
Petals #243
Petals has a special place in our heart: she earns the title of the cat with the longest residency at the café to date. (3 weeks shy of 1 YEAR) That is, until Savannah met her. She was looking for a companion cat for her own Calico, who was eerily similar in demeanor to Petals! What a find for Petals to have a home for the Holidays! And what a blessing for this gal who hailed from a hoarder’s colony of 130 cats where her human died in the home. A new sister, human, and home were on her Santa’s (and heart’s) wishlist.
Gizmo + Leo #244 & #245
These brothers were born inside of a farmhouse to a barn cat mama who decided that her elderly gentleman farmer’s home would be the perfect setting to raise her kittens LOL These two fluffernutters are loving fluffballs of fun and can’t wait to run, bounce and play the day away. While they are very energetic, they have known nothing but love and kindness, something that Nancy was looking for in a cat after losing her beloved baby to old age.
KitKat #246
Talkative and affectionate KitKat was rescued from inside a DUMPSTER at Nancy’s Café in Willows clinging to a kitkat wrapper as a young kitten. Even though this fun-loving young man started life in a bad situation, you’d never know it! KiKat is quite the talker and relished in rough and tumble fun with his lounge mates. He tackles anything and everything, including your legs, lap and heart, as we witnessed with Taylor, who fell in love immediately and the rest is history.
Rosebud #247
Stunning Rosie was rescued hanging around Chico Marketplace where she was looking into the shop windows, no doubt plotting a mad dash inside so she could spruce up some displays. 4-month-old Rosebud is a gorgeous fashion-forward purr bucket who loves to “help” us when we work on our laptops and when we are cleaning. She is no stranger to helping to direct traffic of guests into the lounge, one of which she directed straight to her heart, Glen. He didn’t need much convincing though, making her his shortly thereafter.
Do you see a pattern here? Move over, Hallmark Channel! What we have witnessed in our time with the cafe is the classic (and even better) story: Down-on-their-Luck cat (or cats) get the initial healing they need, come to a halfway house for cats where they grow and learn to trust and tear their walls down and let love in, catching hearts and a home so they can finish their healing and lean in to the love that was always meant for them 🥰😻🐈⬛✨🎅🎯🎁
