Meet Buddy! Sweet Senior Buddy has had a street-hardened life. He was found last September during a TNR project in Durham. This handsome guy is approximately 9.5 years old and was already neutered - he was vaccinated and microchipped and re-released. Buddy found his way to back into a TNR trap a few weeks ago and brought in to the folks at NWSPCA due to an abscess on his chest, where they treated his injuries and released him to our rescue partner. Beautiful Buddy has been quietly recuperating in his foster home until arriving at the lounge a few days ago. We’re so fortunate to have him here with us - he is way too kind and fragile to be returned to life on the streets . His abscess is healed and now he awaits his forever home, where he can luxuriate in a chair snoozing the day away. Buddy LOVES pets and kisses and has a gentle rolling purr. Is your home and heart the place he’s seeking shelter from the storm that has been his life? 😻🐈‍⬛

Meet Bert & Ernestine! Found hanging around a local daycare, this brother-sister duo are sooo cute! While they still slink from one hidey hole to another at the moment, when you do get sight of them, they enjoy pets and kisses - just be quick! Arriving into the lounge a few days ago, these two have blossomed into quite a sweet group of siblings. They both have quick purrs and mini meows, in perfect proportion to their sizes LOL. Bert and Ernestine are a little over 4 months old and are as adorable and squishy as they come!. They say they’d love a home where they can fully decompress and sleep the day away, AFTER bouts of playtime 😻🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

Meet Laurel! She is a special needs girl who cannot be here in the lounge due to her struggles with Calicivirus. ADOPTION # 279:Banter! Blake was owned by a cat for many, many years before he lost him due to old age. He had been wanting to find another buddy for awhile when he stopped in to visit with the cats - and then he met Banter. Or, I should say - Banter toppled him over with his usual playfulness and please-pet-me-but-don't-pick-me-up way. They locked eyes and Banter was like, "Hey, dude, if you are looking for another dude to hang out with while you go to school, I'm your guy." He knew he wanted that Nestflix and Chill human, dispensing treats and tummy rubs as he demanded, waiting for him to come home after a long day of hardly working (does chattering at birds outside count, or patrolling for mice or bugs?) Banter will be missed around here - he loved nothing more than to help us clean in the mornings by riding the mop and chasing down the vacuum to wrap himself around the hose. Thank you for finding your dude and Happy Tails to you both! 😻🐈‍⬛

Meet Smokey! Smokey is a former stray and street-savvy mama of many, many litters in her young almost 5-year-old life. Rescued just last week from the literal streets of Chico VERY pregnant and miserable-looking, Smokey is still tucked away at the moment, unsure of her new lounge mates and surroundings BUT she welcomes pets and responds to gentle caresses of her stunning long gray fur. This sweet mama needs a home where she can get some much needed R&R from her former life as a street cat trying to make her way in the world and care for her kittens without getting starved, abused or discarded like trash. Come in and spend some time with this sweet floof - she might just surprise you 😻🐈‍⬛

Meet Richie! We've had some fluffs in here that were fluffy but MAN Richie's fluffs have fluffs! This outgoing always-up-for-a-romp guy is about 1.5 years old has a sad story that he's hoping to turn into a fairytale. He was found as a stray back in November by a person who was having some medical procedures done and had him boarded and cared for. The foster's medical condition was too extenuating for them to properly care for him, so our rescue partner took him in and now he's showing off his gloriousness and making the other cats look bad with his playfulness and eagerness to make new friends Will you help give his story the fairytale ending it deserves? 😻🐈‍⬛

ADOPTION # 278: Wren! Cutie patootie little Wren did not last long here! It took her a few days to fully warm up to the bustling lounge and new lounge mates who were asking her to play when she wasn't ready. BUT when she WAS ready to play, queue the butt wiggle as you see her adorable little smooshed triangular face launch forward and grab your shoe or the wand toy she loved to wrestle with. Make no mistake - she rests as hard as she plays and loves to invite head scritches as she purrs contentedly away in your lap. Enter Alexis, who loved her play/rest surges so much that she had to make her hers. Thank you for falling in love with little Wren and adopting her in your life! 😻🐈‍⬛

ADOPTIONS #276 & 277: Ghost & Rider! Just 2 fun dudes hanging around the Harley Davidson store in Chico....until one of our rescue partners was alerted to their presence and whisked away into their awesome foster home.Did they have a penchant for Harley's? Did they enjoy people watching? Were they offering unsolicited driving advice? Who knows - but whatever they were doing there they did here at the lounge: talking in motorcycle language talk and in general making themselves known to be fun, easy-going guys who love to annoy each other, show off in front to the girls and pretend to spook birds on TV. They also managed to catch Andres' eye and before any of them knew it (including Andres!), the duo found themselves adopted with one very happy human waiting to love them. Thank you for adopting the two boys - you are all in for the ride of your lives! 😻😻🐈‍⬛🐈‍⬛

ADOPTION # 275: Pandora! Another sweet house panther has been snatched up into her forever home...this makes her the 32nd black cat that has been adopted to date 🐈‍⬛ This little lover, who was rescued out at Scotty's, who has been hiding out and quietly observing the activity here in the lounge, waiting for her chance to be heard and seen, WAS both heard and seen by Amber, who heard her whispers of her secret desire - to find a place and person in which to unwind her heart and open up to. We don't know what mysteries lay in Pandora's box, but one thing is for sure: her new human is ready to explore them with her and embrace the adventures of a new life together. That's all anyone asks for. Thank you for adopting this wonderful girl 😻🐈‍⬛
