A no-kill, 100% volunteer ran, cat shelter dedicated to rescuing, providing care and love, and rehoming abandoned domesticated cats in Chico, CA. We are a non-profit, no kill and all-volunteer organization previously with a mission to rescue and rehome abandoned and surrendered adoptable cats in the greater Chico area. When we were founded in 1997, our goal was to rescue, house, and rehome the ver

y large cat colony in lower Bidwell Park. Over the years, we removed over 1000 cats from the park, and have adopted out over 700 cats. These rescues benefit the cats and the people of Chico who use and enjoy the park. Had these cats not been trapped and altered, the feline population in that area would have grown tremendously over the last decade, leading to an unhealthy and hazardous situation for all. We had a very exciting visitor at the Chico Cat Coalition last week! Nate from stopped by to visit the shelter and take a look at some of our well-loved cat trees that need refreshing! (And of course, give Hopper some good chin scratches.)

The trees will be getting some professional cleaning and re-roping to keep them fresh, extend their use, and make sure the cats get to keep all their favorite snooze spots.🐈💤 Stay tuned for before and afters!

Fun fact: Dobby and Kreature are Turkish Vans!

"The Turkish Van is a playful, energetic cat breed known for its distinctive white coat with a colored head and tail. They are also known as "swimming cats" because of their love of water. Appearance: Semi-longhaired, single coat that's cashmere-soft and easy to maintain. The coat is thicker in the winter and shorter in the summer. Appearance: Pure white body with a colored head and tail. The colored spot can be red, brown, or black."

These two boys recently lost their beloved papa and really want a new family of their own. We can't vouch for their love of swimming (and dont recommend you try!), but they are very friendly and very soft. Let us know if you'd like to meet them! 😻

Hi everybody! I’m Sassy, a sweet 10-year-old kitty who’s been patiently waiting at the Chico Cat Coalition for my new home! I’ve got so much love to give and a heart full of hope that my perfect family is out there somewhere!

I’m a quiet girl who loves life’s simple pleasures: chin scratches, crunchy treats, and cozy naps. People tell me my little white-tipped ears and pink nose are irresistible (I think they’re pretty cute, too!). Once I get to know you, I’ll show you just how much I love being pet and spending time with my favorite humans.

I may not be a playful kitten, but I’m gentle, calm, and ready to bring peace and love to a forever home. If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will warm your lap and your heart, I’m your girl.

It's BACK! 😻 The first Open Shelter Hours of the year! Come on down to 629 Entler Avenue, Suite 13, to take a tour of our Open Concept shelter and see what the CCC is all about.

We have so many amazing cats who are looking for new families this year, and now is your opportunity to come visit with them in an easy quiet way. You can pet them, brush them, play with our toys and give them some interaction, and maybe see which one could be your new friend!

Saturday is the last day of the CCC Christmas Kitty Canned Food Drive! Send off the year with a can or two of Friskies and/or people food to ensure 2025 starts with full bellies! 😻

This is also a great opportunity to meet our adoptable kitties and see if there might be a furball ready to add to your furrever family! Our Open Concept shelter is an amazing temporary home for our feline residents, and our volunteers would love to show you around and introduce you to the cats. 🐈

Meet Kreature and Dobby! These two brothers are quite bonded and enjoy each other's company, so they would love to find a home together. 😻 A special breed known as Turkish Van, they are both about 6 years old and they love boxes, toys, treats, and love. They love attention, being groomed with their brush and are good sized kitties weighing about 13 and 15 pounds.
