Meet Pear 💔

We don’t know Pear’s full story, but what we do know is heartbreaking—at nearly 10 years old, she suddenly found herself surrendered to a neighboring animal control. One day she had a home, and the next she was left behind, confused and unsure why her world changed.

Despite her worry, Pear’s gentle heart still shines through. She leans into affection, quietly asking for love and reassurance. She deserves soft blankets, a calm home, and a family who will treasure her golden years.

Meet Stone! 🪨🤘

Unfortunately, like most of our rescues, Stone was faced with a difficult reality at just 4 months old, his youthful years full of the unknown. Found alone, a good civilian turned him in, seeking a helping hand.
Luckily, Stone wasn't facing any severe health issues, just needing some maintenance. With a little bit of patience, care, and support, this sweet guy perked up in no time, leaving no trace of a once shy, distant kitten.
Now, at just 5 months, this sweet boy has shown us nothing but his appreciation and love. Always looking for a hand to rub up on, Stone is full of personality and fun, ready to find his forever connection.

Meet Bruno -Better than mars! 💫✨️

This sweet boy is a 7 year old German Shepherd, Bulldog Mix who, alongside siblings, was recently surrendered to us after their owner suddenly passed away.
Since Bruno's arrival, his transition here has been rather smooth. Through enrichment sessions, we have observed that Bruno has an extreme liking for water, especially when it comes out of the hose. This kiddo has lots of playful energy; therefore, he would highly appreciate a more active family. He is great on leash, house-trained, and loves everyone he has met!
Bruno gets along well with other dogs, small or big!

Our head trainer is giving his adopter 3 free, 30-minute sessions to help adjust to his new home!

He is also eligible for foster to adopt!

This is Mojito!
Filled with fun and adventure, this guy loves to explore and try new things. He adores spending any kind of quality time with his humans, curious of where the next trip will be to next!

Unfortunately, Mojito came to us in April of this year, his years as a stray causing an extreme case of what is known as "cherry eye", where the third eyelid has a pr*****ed gland, making the pink gland protrude from the outside of the eye.
Once again, our incredible Veterinary team at Chico Pet Vet didn't hesitate to create a plan to make Mojito more comfortable during his time with us. Performing a quick and easy surgery, he was able to recover both quickly and pain-free.

Unfortunately, Mojito doesn't prefer cats and doesn't get along well with other dogs. We feel he would do best in a one-animal household only, or someone who is dedicated to managing his everyday training.
Our head dog trainer is offering three 30-minute private training lessons to whoever adopts Mojito!

Rubble - Dumped and forgotten.

For 10 years, since he was just a small pup, Rubble had life in the pad of his paw. A loving family, constant attention, scrumptious food, his very own bed and toys, and so much more. Sadly, he also developed blindness in both of his eyes, giving him an obstacle to work through in life, his family right by his side through it all. That was up until Rubble's family had discovered he wasn't very dog friendly and unsure of others. Ignoring this, they decided to bring another dog into the household.
Unfortunately, both dogs didn't get along. Therefore, they heartbreakingly decided that Rubble was no longer worth their time, and after all those sweet, long years, they dumped him at the Los Angeles Animal Shelter.

Every since Rubble came to us, just over a year ago, he hasn't stopped searching for his family. We do so much to help distract him, give him all the enrichment we can think of.
He adores long walks and pets, enjoying the fact your just there with him. Smelling your scent, feeling your love and attention, if that is all he could live off of, he certainly would.

Rubble is now almost 12 years old, and we are intensely desperate for him to finally find his forever home, or even someone who is willing to open their hearts and home to him. This sweet boy will always be cared for, loved, and have a home with us, but we truly hope his story doesn't end here with us.

✨️Wishlist Wednesday!✨️

This week for Wishlist Wednesday, we are asking for slip leads!

Slip-leads are an essential part of our staff's everyday work! Without them, we wouldn't be able to safely and efficiently handle dogs.

These tools are extremely handy in training. They provide a great way to teach our pups how to handle leash pressure! This not only creates a smooth process when learning how to walk on a collar or harness, but makes it a positive experience. That results in a more curious, confident, and motivated pup!
