Chevy Update! Many of you remember Chevy, who needed and has now undergone the necessary amputation after severe injuries to his back leg. We're so happy to share that he's doing incredibly well as a tripod – watching him adjust and play on three legs is truly heartwarming!
We are trying to raise funds to cover the cost of Chevy's medical care, and your support is vital. He's a resilient 12-pound pup who's good with other dogs and getting more comfortable on the leash. We're also desperately seeking a foster or forever home for him.

We're sharing some difficult news today regarding our medical case kitten, Lilium. Despite everyone's hopes and efforts, Lilium sadly did not pull through her recent surgery.
This loss is deeply felt by all of us, but it especially highlights the profound impact of our fosters. To Lilium's foster parent's Cata and Zay: thank you. Thank you for always opening your home and heart, for every moment of care, comfort, and love you poured into her and other critical rescue animals you help save, never knowing if they will make it or not. Your dedication truly gave Lilium a chance at a better life and made her time with us meaningful. We couldn't do what we do without you guys, and thank you to everyone who supported Lilium's journey we would not be able to save animals like Lilium without your support!

This is Juno, a beautiful one-year-old Scottish Terrier mix looking for her forever home! Juno was surrendered to us a few months ago because her previous family simply didn't have enough time for her – something we hope to change for good.
Juno is a truly loving and energetic girl. She's incredibly eager to please and very easily motivated, which makes training a breeze! She's already mastered sit and lay down, and she's a dream on the leash, loving every walk. Juno thrives on human connection, loves to play, and generally gets along great with other dogs.

This is Kiya, and her story is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do, and the life-saving importance of microchips! She first came to our rescue as a puppy in 2019 and found a home. Fast forward nearly five years, and we were heartbroken to find her as a stray. Thankfully, because Kiya was microchipped, she was brought back to us! Without that chip, she would have most likely ended up on a euthanasia list with no place to go.
So, if you find a stray dog, please, please get it scanned for a microchip! It's their best chance to be reunited with their family or, in cases like Kiya's, find a safe haven.
Now, this incredible 6-year-old Lab Pit mix is back with us, patiently waiting for a true forever family. At 70 pounds, she's pure love! Kiya is a people-lover, generally gets along well with other dogs, and is a joy to walk – she does great on leash! Plus, she's perfectly potty and crate trained. Kiya is a gem ready to bring so much love into your life.

This is Gidget, a Chihuahua mix who's been with us since May 2024, when she was found wandering in Bakersfield. Gidget is often overlooked, not because of anything she's done, but because her initial shyness around new people means she hasn't been given a real chance.
But let us tell you, Gidget is a different dog than the one who arrived! She has made incredible strides. She adores playing with other dogs and is slowly but surely learning to trust and love people. We believe she's likely never experienced life inside a home, and she's longing for that stability.
We're looking for a special family for Gidget – one with other playful dogs who can help her continue to build confidence and feel safe. If you have patience, love, and a home with other pups, please consider Gidget! She's available for adoption or foster.

It's getting HOT out there, and our furry friends desperately need your help! ☀️ Our adoptable dogs rely on pop-up tents for shade at adoption events and even at our facility, but ours are worn out. Without proper shade, our pups are at risk of overheating.
A new pop-up tent costs around $100 to $250, and we're in desperate need of several. If you're able to donate towards a new tent, or even have a gently used pop-up you no longer need, it would be incredibly appreciated and make a huge difference in keeping our dogs cool and comfortable.
