Jack Jack was returned to us 6 years after being in a home. His family is having some financial hardships and is simply unable to provide for him.

He is such a great dog we are sure he would make any family so happy and he is very depressed in a kennel setting.
Jack is a 7-year-old American bulldog mix male.
He is up to date on vaccines and preventatives
Leash trained, crate trained, and house trained.
Knows basic commands and loves to be with his humans.

He does great with kids but needs to be the only pet in the home.
Jack Jack has so much love to give and is such a sweetheart!! He enjoys walks, belly rubs, cuddling but most of all just being close to humans. He would really benefit from a temporary foster home while we find his forever.

Meet Joe! This boy had been through a lot and still has a great attitude about life. When Joe came to us part of his jaw was severely broke and his left hip was dislocated.

Our amazing doctor removed the broken part of his jaw that was not fixable and put his hip back in place. Now Joe is doing great eating only soft foods and is a great cuddle buddy.

We think joe is a poodle mix around 5 years old and he is about 18 lbs. Joe gets along with everyone he meets but can be a little shy at first!

Are you potentially looking for an older cuddle bug. Well meet Billy!! This boy is about 10 years old and loves to cuddle up in bed or on the couch. We think he is a chihuahua mix and only weights about 13 pounds. Billy spends most of his day walking around the yard trying to find a good sun tanning spot but when it’s time to go inside he looks for the most comfy blanket he can find and gets underneath. Billy has been with us for almost 8 months and is looking for a home where he can do all his favorite activities in peace.

Meet Titus our little but mighty “sheep” dog! This little guy has some interesting fur to say the least. He feels like a mix between sheep wool and a cotton ball.

This boy is the best of both worlds he can be playful with dogs and people but can also be super loving and chill. This little guy also has an amazingly cute under bite.

Titus is only about 1 yrs old and only weights about 12 lbs. Titus would be a great addition to any family!! If you are interested in adopting please comment or DM.

Crinkle Fry is in need of a quiet foster home where she can recover.

She was returned to us due to a mild case of cystitis, likely brought on by stress, which caused her to have an accident on her owner's bed. With the right medication and a temporary special diet, she should be back to her old self soon. Crinkle Fry is incredibly sweet and a bit confused about why she’s back with us.

We will cover approved medical expenses through our vet, provide food, and supplies.

$5 Friday for little miss Tinkerbell!

This tiny Puggie baby was picked up by the Modesto shelter with a severe eye infection. She was found roaming the streets and is less than 5 lbs! We have no idea what happened to her eye but Dr Lewis and the team scheduled her surgery right away.
She is now recovering in a foster home and getting all the love she wants!!

She does great with dogs and kids! She is super affectionate and playful with other dogs. She deserves so much more than living on the streets of Modesto.

Meet Drako 💕 We got Drako when he was about 6 weeks old. He was adopted out for 4 years and then was abandoned at a friends house and they could not care for him. We have almost had Drako for a whole year since he has been back! He is a sweet loving boy who knows his basic commands like sit, lay down, and shake. He gets along with dogs and dog friendly cats. He does take time to warm up to new people and new animals. Through all of this heart break it has cause him to be cautious around new people. He will need to meet new people and new animals through a controlled environment. He is leash reactive when it comes to new people and animals. He is looking for someone that is ready to give him a chance and is willing to work with him.

When dogs get adopted out from our rescue a lot of our staff wonder how they are doing and if they are living their best life. Well today we have a great update from one of our senior dogs. Kody came to us with a grade 4 heart murmur, skin issues, and was in major need of a dental. Kody was adopted about 2 months ago and is doing great. With his new owners he has already been from Chico and road tripped through Oregon to his new home in Idaho! We are super thankful to all of our adopters that help give seniors dogs a second chance!

Update on Leila and Her 6 Pups!

Leila was rescued from a shelter with a broken leg and VERY pregnant. Her puppies are now four weeks old, their eyes are open, and they are becoming more active each day. Leila is thriving and enjoying lots of attention in her foster home.

Little Girl came to us from a shelter where she was taken after her owner died. As an older girl, her chances of rescue from a crowded shelter were slim (to none). She is a happy, upbeat senior who likes to go for walks and go for rides (she may need help loading up!). She is housebroke, likes a soft bed inside and to wander in her yard with a shady spot to rest in. She has lived with a companion dog and seems to do better with males, although she is okay with all agreeable dogs.

Oh, and she is not a "little" girl as her name suggests. She came to us at 80 pounds and is now down to a probable 65-70. She would like to return to her status as a cherished pet for the rest of her days.

Maise, a 16-18-year-old dog, was relinquished by her elderly owner who feared she might not be able to care for her much longer and wanted to ensure Maise didn't end up in a shelter.

Chico Pet Vet conducted a thorough examination and discovered that Maise has a kidney infection and pancreatitis. She has been recovering well with medication. We kindly ask for your donations to help cover her medical care.

This poor mama was left in a hot car with her newborn puppies. By the time help arrived to rescue them from the scorching vehicle, only two puppies survived.

We have named mama, Willow and are still deciding on names for the pups if you have any suggestions, comment below.

Willow is nursing her puppies and doing well. We are doing our best to help her feel safe and heal from some of her past trauma.

Thank you to everyone who has been checking in on us. We have been so busy watching fire maps and preparing to evacuate we finally have a moment to get everyone up to speed.

As most of you know, the Park fire is huge and aggressive. It started in Butte County and has now expanded into Tehama and Shasta County.
When it first broke out, we moved many of our Butte Co animals to our Tehama County location, and as of last night, the fire was less than 10 miles away from that location.

We loaded over 100 animals into transport vehicles and were ready to leave if necessary. We have round-the-clock care on site in case we get a notification.

We urgently need your support to ensure the safety of our beloved animals. With evacuation becoming a real possibility, we hope to place as many animals into foster care as possible.
