We also introduced Sara Kleon and Diamonds Jacked Up to the show pen in the middle of the year, who showed huge improvements and marked under multiple judges.

“She’s behind” “I didn’t do enough with her”
All things I’ve told myself this year.
I bought this filly as a weanling, picked her up as a yearling, and she’s been just living since. My plan was to have her line drove, desensitized, etc etc, and riding around in the spring since she’s my personal horse. Well, she had her first ride yesterday and has had none of those things done.
Life got busy, between outside horses, lessons, shows, my full time job, and planning a wedding. It happens. So I did my best to make every little interaction count. She had 2 weeks off before I put this 1st ride on her, but there was no fight, no fuss during the whole process.
I think we all get caught up on the big picture, the big goals that are sometimes overwhelming, instead of all the little ones. And yes, she is behind from what I expected, but look at all the positives I still have to focus on. She’s a happy and calm little filly who went around like she had not a care in the world. Sidenote, she is like the calmest 2y/o I’ve ever seen, so I can’t take all the credit..
Maybe we all need to just be a little nicer to ourselves and notice how life’s big things aren’t actually that scary?

2 of our Halo A members spent the weekend competing at AAYHS with other youths from across the country.
Bella Butler and Chance got 2nd in Barrels.
Bella and her ranch pony, Lexi got 6th in Trail and 7th in Reining.
Edyn Pfeifer and Reba got 2nd in 18” cross rails, 13& under, and 4th in Hunter Eq.
Great job ladies!!

We braved the storms and got to show through most of the classes at the first SOQPA show of the year. Everyone did a great job!

Joella Miller,in her first show ever, placed 5th on PeeWee Showmanship, 2nd in W/T Horsemanship, and 3rd in PeeWee Horsemanship.

Bella Butler placed 2nd in Open Yt Horsemanship and 1st in NQPA Yt Horsemanship. She was at the cone to start when lightening hit in her trail to conclude our day unfortunately.

Edyn Pfeifer placed 1st in Open HUS, 4th in Eq, and 1st in Yt Horsemanship. She also did not get to finish all her classes.

We kicked off the show season with a bang! On a Thursday setting up, the kids were stating this would be the best ORHA show yet, and boy were they right! Huge thanks to the Ohio Ranch Horse Association for a great opening show, and our crew of parents and friends that we got to share the weekend with!

We had a great day of working on ranch trail and ranch riding obstacles. We had another great group today and we cant’t wait to cheer all of them on in the show pen this year! Thank you to everyone who came out to participate and to watch, we love any excuse to eat donuts and work horses🩵

Huge thank you to all of the lovely participants that showed up for our first Work It To Win It Clinic! The level of improvement and talent that they showed is fantastic for so early in the season. These kiddos, and their support staff, were awesome to work with.
We will be hosting our 2nd clinic, focusing on Ranch Riding and Ranch Trail April 6th. If interested in joining, please let us know!
