Every day could be this great. A small sanctuary meets a vegan group from Dallas and the rest is magic. There’s always plenty to do, fix, clean, build and more. Having volunteers who love animals so much, they don’t eat them means their day was filled with purpose helping rescued farmed animals feel safe, loved, and cared for. This group was filled with amazing people who regularly get together for friendship and good vegan food as part of the . Thank you you all for an amazing day.

It’s like a cloud mattress for farmed animals. Hay isn’t just for eating. It’s also for soft places to sleep. Each bale is 15 but any amount is helpful. Sharing is absolutely needed. The more eyes the better chance of the animals getting what they need. Let’s make Ace happy today.

There’s always something. Some basic need. Some emergency need. We’ve put in two hundred into hoof and liver supplements for the horses recently. They’ve just run out of their Vermont blend minerals and their copper zinc and vitamin E supplements. That’s another one fifty. Thank you so much if you can help and share. How to break up a fight….Start a new one. Goat kids learn about life and relationships through head butting. Head butting isn’t always about fighting. Sometimes it’s playful. Sometimes it’s about asserting hierarchy, status within the group. Sometimes it’s about challenging someone for dominance and depending who you chose to head butt, you can FAFO real fast. Sometimes head butts are gentle. Sometimes head butts are injurious. Head butting is a form of communication within a goat herd.

We need hay. Our hay funds are exhausted. Between vet care, meds, supplements, sick and hurt animals, everything is exhausted. We are exhausted. We need 42 bales weekly but we need more help than getting by week to week. So please send hay. Please become a monthly supporter. Your actions matter to these animals. Temperance update: our littlest little girl, Temperance got a bump on her side. It got hard and large. With a few wonderful supporters help, she was able to go to the vet a couple weeks ago and get this lump identified as an abscess. Pigs love to scratch their bodies by rubbing on things and little Miss might have gotten a splinter that got infected. Unfortunately, by the time I noticed it because she was blowing her coat, her skin encapsulated the infection with scar tissue. Luckily, the vet was able to loosen it and squeeze it out (think best episode of Dr. pimple popper). Sadly, this wasn’t a pleasant experience for Tempy. But she soon forgot the pain, came home, and is healing up nicely. Once it gets completely finished, she can be back with her family. Your support always goes to the kiddos. I believe Cloven Heart is a truly special place. But this month, that promise I made to keep every animal here safe and loved feels harder to keep than ever.
Fundraising has slowed to a trickle. Fences are breaking, shelters are crumbling, and emergencies keep coming. I’ve poured everything into this sanctuary, but I can’t do it alone.
This dream was meant to give them safety, warmth, and love-not end in struggle. You can help rewrite this chapter in their story. I love the part where everyone stays together. The part where the sanctuary is overflowing with support. The part where everyone gets to grow old having lived a safe and happy life at Cloven Heart.

A Humble Little Farm

The dream had always been to find a little piece of dirt so that we could start to save animals. We wanted to provide a home, a safe place, a love story for all of the little creatures that needed a family, acceptance, nurturing. Our number one rule is that we treat each other like we love each other. Amazingly, every animal that has been saved over the last two years have adopted each other as family. They play, they eat, they drink, they forage, they graze, they rest all together as a loving unit. Every animal has a unique personality and quirks and they all deserved to be treated better than they were in their previous lives. At Cloven Heart, we are all about restoring dignity to their lives, saving them from abuse, neglect, slaughter, and healing their broken bodies and souls. Animals are used. Period. Their bodies and their spirits are wrecked by a civilization that believes they have the right to. Worldwide, there is an epidemic of cruelty towards animals. We hope to change the world. We hope to change a life. By saving these animals, we are showing them that although they were hurt they can heal and be strong again, that although they were used they can find peace and respect, that although they were abandoned they are loved and can trust again, that although they were sad and confused by the cruelty of their previous life, at Cloven Heart they are safe and have a loving home and for the rest of their lives they will know nothing but love, happiness, and family.
