Another quick tip when feeding your puppy to prevent resource guarding, it teaches the dog that anytime you are reaching for his bowl is alway to add more food and not to remove food. So they learn to associate you coming close to the food bowl as a good thing since there will be more food delivered.

Little Aurik 3-1/2 months old German Shepherd came to us for one week of boarding and I told his owner I would start him on basic puppy foundations since he has hired me to help him with Aurik’s training via private sessions. Aurik didn’t know much when he came to us which at 3-1/2 months it’s expected. Here is a quick update on some of the basic foundation we worked on for the week he was with us.

Leash pressure introduction and working on loose leash walking along with some sits and downs. I like to show mistakes that happen thru training so people can see that dogs are dogs and not robots. Specially young puppies like Koba which he is only 5-1/2 months old. No edits so you guys can see how I manage unexpected situations (other dogs, people, to many smells what ever it is) and show you that dog training is a matter of adjusting to the situations that you encounter.

How to keep a balance between play and excitement vs calm and relaxed like you saw on the video where I have all 7 dogs in place just relaxing.

House management with more than one dog.
