Amazing two week bootcamp in Florida with Sam VanFleet, Andrea Hayden, and fellow bootcampee Heather! We did everything from c**t starting, mustang gentling, dressage, jumping, liberty, and more!

Finally posting pictures from the Bubbaride last month! Spartan’s first group ride with nearly 100 other horses and he did great! If you told me two years ago when I got him as a 4 year old wild mustang that we would be doing this I don’t know if I would have believed you. Spartan is the smartest and most challenging horse I’ve ever trained which made this ride even more meaningful.

Luna Freestyle Video Placing 3rd! I told you I had a story for this class, here is some of it!

Thoughts-
This class was a flood of emotions. I'm always more nervous for freestyle so this year I decided to be super low key and didn't do any theme, decorations, or anything special to keep it simple.

The last class we did in the arena Luna was nervous so going into this I had no idea if I would feel comfortable taking off the halter which meant I would have to improvise on the spot.

Starting our routine these was a miscommunication with the music which meant talking to the music coordinator while doing my routine. Because of this I had no idea when they started my timer and couldn't follow the music to see how much time I had left.

Luna listens well so I decide to take the halter off. You can see my hesitation in the video.

I finished my normal liberty routine and they still haven't given me my 30 second warning. Which meant for the last minute of our routine only one thing is going through my mind, "What do I do now?"

I had to improvise. I began trying things we had never done at liberty before like the pivots and the barrels, which is why she left me there. We had never done that at liberty before.

Overall Luna listened perfectly and I was very proud of her but I had no idea how we would place and if it looked good or sloppy since it was almost completely improvised.

Thoughts-
As soon as we stepping into the arena I could tell Luna was slightly off. She still listened and did very well, but was more hesitant for everything than usual. Normally she wouldn't think twice about any of these obstacles, but she did amazing considering the show environment.

Luna Handling and Conditioning Video Placing 9th. Finally posting the competition videos! Apologies for the delay, technical difficulties.

Thoughts-
Luna did great for everything but her feet. She is usually good for her feet, but was distracted in the environment. We scored very high in handling, however she was bit thin which lost us points on conditioning, which is why we placed 9th.

Last weekends ten mile ride with Pony Tales Refuge!

3rd place overall! Placing 9th in handling and conditioning, 4th in trail, and 3rd in freestyle! Also won the special Horsemanship Champion buckle award for best overall horsemanship displayed all weekend with my horse and other competitors.

I have to say a special thank you to my friends and family for supporting me, especially my parents who have helped me tremendously with driving, show prep, and photography!

I cannot believe it! I came into this hoping for top 10 but unsure I would even make that considering I’ve barely worked with Luna the past month. Luna was amazing and passed my expectations!

Luna is still available for adoption.

Message me if you are interested! Luna is a sweetheart with potential to be a great kids horse but keep in mind she only has approximately 100 days training and 10 rides and will need continued training.

Is a 3 yr old mustang from Adobe Town, WY approximately 14 hands and 750 pounds

Knows the basics: catch, lead, pickup feet, load in trailer, fly spray

Goes over obstacles: poles, bridge, water, tarps

Knows body maneuvers: lunge, flex, pivots, yields, sidepass, back figure 8s, how to be ponied

Started under saddle: 10 rides at walk trot in arena and one trail ride, wears saddle and back cinch, has never tried to rear or buck

Started liberty: come, back, pivot, free lunge/liberty circles in round pen

Is up to date on everything: coggins, vaccines, hooves, worming, and chiropractic

Clips from Luna's 3rd ride! The trot clip was the VERY FIRST time asking and she picked up a nice smooth gait with no hesitation or concern.

*She's wet from the rain not sweat, even though she has a shelter.

Week 10 - Luna and Spartan win second place at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair with a photo collection of their introduction.

*No horses were hurt in the photographs. This was a one time thing when they were first introduced. They get along well now.
