The Poor Ranch Horse Rescue

We are a dedicated to helping and saving the lives of high risk horses off of slaughter trucks. Donations are always more than welcome and appreciated.

The Poor Horse Ranch Rescue was founded in May of 2013 by Sydney Nelson and Corey Tully. Their mission was to save as many unwanted horses that have landed in the worst position possible, the “slaughter truck”. Funded by their own personal incomes and generous donations from the public they have saved countless wonderful animals from their untimely death. The Poor Horse Ranch Rescue purchases the

animals from the “Kill Buyer” at horse sales, or are granted the horses from the local police department who have seized the animals from their neglectful owners. The horses are then rehabilitated, starting in basic training, and adopted out into forever loving homes. Bales of hay and bags of feed are a sure way the horses’ hearts and they would love extra goodies from the public. Weezy is looking for a new home she can only be a pasture ornament due to an old injury. Weezy is not halter broke but will come to feed and let you pet her.

When you hop on the trailer by yourself when mom is loading horses to take to the house for trims and baths you get to go too and get a bath.. old girl is slowly gaining.

Girls are adjusting well!
We are in search of some round or square bales around nacogdoches tx. Trying to prep for winter as well as for the ones who currently can not be turned out on pasture due to health issues.

Older bay mare and mini mule buddies.
Buckskin is also new but not a rescue intake.
