Meet Pixie 💞

Pixie had a rough start to her little life. She came from a home with way too many cats and dogs. One of the dogs attacked her and she almost didn’t make it. We were asked to help and take her. We didn’t hesitate. We also weren’t prepared for this little girl, open sores and all, who would end up stealing our hearts. Through this all, she has been so loving with kisses and cuddles. She wears a little tiny shirt so she doesn’t lick and reopen her wounds.

We are still working on her healing and she is now running around and playing! Something she didn’t want to do or could. She had wounds on each side of her shoulder area from the attack. Her appetite was crazy and she would eat like a little pig. Mainly because there wasn’t a lot of food where she was at.

Little Pixie is strong, lover, sweetie, brave, and amazing! She still has more healing to do and once she is ready, she will be available for adoption.

We didn’t want to share her story until we knew she was on the mend. So now that she is~ meet Pixie ❤️

Bretta’s Pantry is open today from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm

‼️Use the door facing the Jubilee parking lot. There is signage.

Bretta’s Pantry is a free cat and dog food shelf. We all have had times where we need some extra help with cat and/or dog food. We will help take some stress off of you so you won’t have to worry about feeding your furry friend(s).

Did you know, Bretta’s Pantry helps over 120 cats and dogs a month?! There is such a need for food help and that is why we are here- to help you keep those precious furry babies!

If you would like to help the pantry, we take any type of hard and wet cat and dog food and we also take open bags of cat and dog food.

If you would like to donate monies, you can send a check/money order to Precious Paws, C/O Bretta’s Pantry, 101 SW 1st Ave, Chisholm, MN 55719. Or you can stop by our shelter or the pantry to drop off a check, money order or cash.

This week, we will only be open Monday and Wednesday to the public this week. The rest of the week is by appointment.

The need for volunteers is high at our shelter. Volunteers are what makes our shelter run and stay open.

What we are needing:

🐱We are looking for help showing animals, some clerical duties, and answering phones on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11-2. If you can only do one day a week- that works for us! Anything helps!

🐶We are looking for people to socialize with our animals. Sitting with them, brushing, playing, etc. the days/times available are Sunday- 10-12, Monday -Friday 11-2. Have a few hours a week to play with animals? We want you! This is for ages 18+

🐱We are looking for morning cleaners. The days needed are Monday, Tuesday and Friday. Times are usually 8:30-10. Cleaning kennels, sweeping, laundry, dishes, etc. We train and are with you the whole time! Looking for a rewarding volunteer position- this is it! This is the backbone to our shelter!

Update on Conrad~ he will be at the vet throughout the weekend and hopefully come back to us Monday. Please send fast healing thoughts for Conrad ❤️‍🩹

Today we noticed Conrad didn’t seem like himself. He just looked off,was laying in his litter box and didn’t want to come out during playtime. Isn’t it crazy that you’re around these animals so much and spend so much time with them that you just know something isn’t right?

After checking him out and noticing he would jump when you pressed on his tummy, he was rushed to the vet. Conrad was diagnosed with a urinary obstruction. He will be at the vet until Monday so far.

This guy is so sweet and gentle and it breaks our hearts to see him not feeling well.

Prayers and positive thoughts for a speedy recovery are needed and appreciated. ❤️‍🩹
