Here are our available cats and dog! 🐶🐱
We don’t show any of the intake animals on their hold, mamas and babies that are not able to be adopted yet or any animals that have medical issues that we are working on to make them healthy. A lot goes on behind the scenes!
Like many other shelters, we are getting full and currently not accepting surrendets
Our shelter runs on volunteers and they are working hard on all three volunteer shifts! Our shelter isn’t city ran- we are fundraiser and donation based. The monetary donations help us with everything from lights on to vet bills and everything in between. And the food donations help keep the animals bellies full!
We are always looking for more adult, 18+, volunteers for morning cleaning (M, W, Th, F, Sat and Sunday) and a Saturday evening volunteer (1-2 hours). If interested, please fill out a volunteer application at www.pphsc.com.
We also have our pantry- Bretta’s Pantry open Mondays and Thursdays from 11-1 on the North side of our building. We help over 200 animals a month! This is a free cat and dog food pantry to help our community be able to keep their animals.
We do host MN Snap (low cost spay and neuter) twice a year and will have them back at our shelter before fall! Keep an eye out for the announcement!

I would also like to give a special shout-out to the awesome volunteers at our shelter that go out of their way to keep it running smoothly, always able to come in and help each other, go above and beyond to be there for the right reason- they are there and the voice for the animals. It’s not about us, it’s about them!
