We’re going on STAYCATION Fam!!! From October 14-28th!!!

It’s been a long time since we take a break… time for ourselves and the Dogs. Of course, this is more of a break from phones(mine will be far away from me), social media and leaving the house. We will still have tons of work 😂 I will be using the time to get a lot of little repairs and “chores” done, start our garden, prepare our winter trails, set up the Ranch for winter and most importantly…enjoy the Dogs and to relax in nature so we can reset because there is very much to accomplish in the future.

So babies…if you need me I will be available until the 13th of October. Or after the 28th… plan accordingly. I love you fam!!!

DOG INTRODUCTIONS:

Everything is situational but first I need to explain what a proper Dog introduction is.

Dogs have a very strict social protocol in all aspects of their community that have been hard wired over thousands of years. They know exactly what to do and what not to do. With Dog introductions our role is not to teach them how to greet each other but to ensure that proper protocol is being followed.
So the question is: What is the proper protocol and what are the warning signs that an introduction is not going well.

Always be aware of the energy in the environment so you can choose the most neutral and relaxed location possible. Watch their body language especially calming signals such as yawning, turning away, lip licking, ears slicked back, wide eyes, trying to leave the area, drooling, etc…

PROPER INTRODUCTIONS:

- The Dogs must be free roaming and off leash without any restriction.
- There is an intitial slow intricate dance at first which a leash would hamper.
- One or both will be involved in this ritual.
- One or both will appoach the other on the side of the body.
- If comfortable their body distance will tighten.
- One will then smell the genitals and anus of the other after they have been given permission from the receiver.
- The receiver will then reciprocate and smell the genitals and anus of the other.
-The final seal of approval will be them licking the others genitalia. Once that has occured the introduction is over…they can now play.

IMPROPER INTRODUCTIONS:

- The Dog shows any form of aggression (raised fur, exposed teeth, posturing, stiffness, lunging)
- The Dogs immediately appoach each other face to face.

These are warning signs and need direct intervention right away!

If the introduction doesn’t go as planned one of the most powerful tools you can use is to take them on a walk together so they can begin to feel comfortable in each other’s presence. During a walk a Dog focuses on nothing but the walk. Upon returning from the walk they will have less energy be more relaxed and become more comfortable with each others presence. This will help with the realization that the other Dog is not a threat.
Our role is to know what a proper Dog introduction is and to monitor and ensure it’s going well. Don’t worry… nobody knows how to speak Dog better than a Dog 🦾💯❤️🤟🏼

The dogs decided that my phone was a pool toy yesterday morning so I’m phone less.😂 Call Michelle if y’all need me.
I will try to revive my phone today…if it doesn’t work will have to get a new one tomorrow. It is what it is. I love you fam ❤️💪🏻

Yeah…it’s hot!

In case you haven't been outside yet, it is hot & humid out there. Triple digit heat index values now occurring across the area w/ a number of places at 105+. If you are going to be outside, stay hydrated & watch for the symptoms of heat related illnesses.
