The view from our kitchen window. I don’t always have my phone at the ready but sometimes!
Layne is taking fresh colts out in the cold and snow!
Hudson is one of my favorite horses we’ve purchased in the last year.
Layne bought him from Ann Lunak and to say we’re lucky and blessed to have him is an understatement! He was Ann’s favorite guy and I’m not sure how we got away with owning him! 🤍
We got him just before Layne left for guiding this fall and while he was gone I spent time halter breaking him and doing some ground work getting him ready for Layne to start. I fell head over heels in love with him and immediately bonded with him. Layne knew as soon as he got home from guiding he had lost his newest prospect 😂
I was cleaning stalls one morning and Layne walks by and said “we’re getting ready to get on your horse.” Confused, I said “huh?” With a reply of “Hudson.” I dropped the pooper scooper and took off for the round pen with a smile on my face.
Hudson really liked to buck the first few times he was saddled but by the time Layne started putting some rides into him they had sorted through most of it.
I can’t wait for this guy to be going well enough for me to ride come spring time.
He’ll be for sale… someday…. Maybe. 😏
“Rico” just barely knocked out his first 30 days! It was about 5 degrees the morning this video was taken and Layne stepped on and rode off to help move some heifers around the yards before a special production sale at the sale barn.
We are going to put 90 more days on him and he will be available for consideration in the early spring! I’ll post his pedigree in the comments! 😍 he should have a soft, fancy handle, he’s got nice papers behind him and some pretty unique coloring to him with a heck of a mane and tail too! Make sure you keep an eye on him because he’s going to be one worth buying!
