Hey Friends 🙋‍♀️🙋🙋‍♂️We just wanted to make sure you were all still here and paying attention to us...we know it's been awhile but we figured since the 2024/25 season is in full effect we would just do a little checking in!!

As many know we were awarded Jamboree 2024 and so excited to invite all our fellow California Gymkhana Association friends to our home!! We hope you all are as excited as us!!

Along with the planning of Jamboree we are still working on our own shows and our first one is September 21 & 22 which is our CGA D2 DEUCES WILD....MUST GO SHOW!!

We have also attached an UPDATED Show Schedule for the 2024/25 Season (take note our October Show has been removed because we are hosting Jamboree)

Remember this is a State Show so rider numbers are issued as you enter...Don't be the last guy out there!!!

Jamboree pre entry forms are LIVE!

Please be ready to submit payment once you submit your entry. Any entries left unpaid for 14 business days will be deleted. If you are paying via venmo or requesting a credit card link - please be ready to pay when your entry is submitted.

You can also enter on site - there will be a $25 on site processing fee applied to on site entries.

Does anyone feel like they need a day or two or week to close out the show and do the recap?!? Good so we're not alone!!!

We had a wonderful weekend hosting the Annual CGA D2 DEUCES WILD...ARM CHAIR OPEN and we CAN NOT brag enough on our riders and their families!!! It was a warm weekend but we managed to run 13 events each day and have them done, horses untacked, waterslide going, awards handed out, folks on the road, etc. all by 1pm both days and Friday's 13 Set Ups done in 2hrs. We don't mean to brag but *cough cough* we run like a Well Oiled Machine!!!

Now that we have bragged a little let's get to the good stuff....Weekend Activities and Show Recap!!!

Friday started our weekend with everyone arriving and getting their Set Up requests in and ready to ride. We offered ALL 13 events and the riders took us up on them. We started Set-Ups promptly 3pm and had everyone relaxing and ready for dinner by 5pm! We require that if you request set ups you or a family member MUST work every set up just so that we know we have the workers and let me tell you NOT one person complained and because of that we were able to roll right on through and Git-R-Dun!!! Friday Night we all sat around the pepper tree and had Blackstone Nachos and hung out until bedtime at 9pm...I mean we were starting at 8am so we needed our rest!

Saturday Morning was just like every other show morning...Sign ups opened and riders arrived!! We truly appreciate everyone being on time and not waiting until last minute to check in...this allows us to start our show on time. Which we did again...promptly at 8am! The ground was AMAZING (As Always) and some impressive times were pulled throughout the day including multiple Arena Records! (Check out the Pics for ALL the bump ups). We ended the show for the day with running 6 set ups and sending everyone back to the Pepper Tree by 1pm where the 18ft Waterslide was set up and ready.

Kids seemed to have the BEST TIME but let's not forget the parents who enjoyed it just as much!! We were also lucky to have Kevin Coles BBQ 130 chicken legs and garlic bread for our Saturday Night Dinner. It complimented our Salad Potluck Perfectly!! We love having our riders and their families spend the evenings with each other making memories and building friendships!

After dinner we made our way to the arena where our Annual Arm Chair Race would happen. This year we had 11 entries and boy did they bring it. The event this year required our riders to ride the barrel pattern but on their way home they had to weave a couple poles....We like to throw a little spin on the event every year!

Our Arm Chair Winner was Cowboy Grandpa with a 23.606 followed by Colby No Last Name with a 27.982 but we also show our LOVE to our Dead @$$ Last Winner and this year's award was Jon Saul with a 74.360!! We can't forget to mention all the coaches who helped get their rider through the pattern with their trusty Whistles!!!

After our Arm Chair we handed out the 1000s of glow sticks to our 18 entries and told them to meet us back at 9pm to start our 1st Annual Glow Stick Barrel Race (not a correct CGA pattern). These riders brought it...No literally they did not let the DARK and lack of LIGHT slow them down. We used this as a small fundraiser. The entry fee was $40 with 50% going back to the riders (evenly split) and 50% going to D2, the total pot was $830. (Thank you Lameaway & Amy Odom-Tollison and Shelly Njirich for your added money) Our 1D Winner was Belle Saul with an 18.544. 2D Grace Fredricks with 19.934, 3D Winner was Aubrie Buck with 21.832, 4D was Amy Odom-Tollison with 22.909 and our 5D Winner was Rachel Rua with 24.467. With the Races over everyone made their way to their trailers because 8am was gonna come pretty early!

Sunday Morning rolled in and everyone was up and ready to go and boy did it show. With our first event the Arena Records were broke and from that point on it continued...One right after the other with 15 finally sticking for the weekend!

As the show ended everyone gathered once again under the Pepper Tree where we did High Points, recognized our Arena Record Holders and Congratulated both Lea deMontigny on her ROC Finish as well as Trew Tollison and Thumper on finishing their Top Ten...Did you know Thumper is only 40" tall?!?

If you host an Arm Chair Open Show obviously your awards have to be chairs...And that's exactly what ours were.

High Point was your highly love Rocking Camp Chair
Reserve was the Amazing and Comfy Hanging Camp Chair
3rd Place was the Trusty 'Ol Director Style Camp Chair

But don't worry...even our Leadliners got in on the prizes with their very own Camping Chairs!!!

Did you know that California Gymkhana Association is a volunteer organization?!?! We don't have any paid workers or judges at our shows. With that being said it makes us rely heavily on our riders, families and friends to keep the shows running smooth and efficiently!!

We are truly blessed to have some of the BEST RIDERS AND FAMILIES here at CGA D2 Deuces Wild that we very rarely have to ask for help and if we do it's because our judge or workers need relief!

We at Deuces Wild would like to take a moment to recognize a few of the folks who work so hard and can be found in the booth, in the arena or the gate all day long!!

Thank you to Mike Tobin ( Susan Collins Tobin )who is always on the gate, in the arena setting obstacles or helping to measure events. Without your help we would be lost!!

Next shout out goes to Deziree Fredriks who is the voice behind the 🎤! She's the one that helps to keep the show moving as well as provides the entertainment whether it's reading everyone's You're A 🌟 Questionnaire or Telling Dad Jokes all weekend she is a vital part of keeping the show moving forward!

Third we would like to Thank Matt Fredriks for always jumping in to help get the ground ready...regardless if it's to run a tractor or ride the water tank! If a judge is needed he makes sure to relieve who ever it is without hesitation!

And Lastly a huge shout out to Marnie (the voice behind State Office) for all the support and stepping in whenever she is needed...no matter the task!

And to everyone else(there's so many to name everyone)....Thank you!! Without everyone willingness to jump in whenever, wherever without hesitation we would not run as smoothly as we do!!

Not sure where to start but THANKING our Arena, Tractor and Ground Man seems like a good place to start.....So THANK YOU Mickey Brunelli

Many may not know but California Gymkhana Association (CGA) is a statewide organization that has districts from the Northern Part of California all the way to the Southern Border and from the Ocean to the Mountains. We are many strong and have a level of competition unmatched by any other Gymkhana Association around. We use a Standard Rating Matrix to determine placings in every event for all 5 horse divisions and all 5 pony divisions!

So with that being said let us brag a little on our TRACTOR/ARENA GUY Mickey Brunelli ... This guy takes so much pride in his ground and arena. He hasn't always been at Valley View Ranch Arena though...he has been part of CGA and State Show Ground for many years and could be seen in any arena helping out that he was visiting with his daughter!

Over this last weekend the times that were pulled from the CGA D2 DEUCES WILD...ARM CHAIR OPEN at Valley View Ranch Arena were Absolutely Amazing! Not to brag...LOL...but our little show with 30 riders managed to pull 12 SUPREME TIMES and 15 AAA+ TIMES and BROKE ARENA RECORD after arena record with 15 finally sticking!!!

Let us start off by saying THANK YOU to all the riders, workers and families who made the long drive and braved the warm weather to make this one of the BEST CGA D2 DEUCES WILD...ARM CHAIR OPEN Shows yet!!

30 riders, 13 events a day and finished long before the heat got crazy...but the heat was OK since the waterslide was up and ready to go!!

It's Raffle Time!!

Our Youth Group has decided to start their fundraising efforts for next season with a Raffle at the CGA D2 DEUCES WILD...ARM CHAIR OPEN .

If you are able to donate we are looking for Raffle Prizes...maybe you have awards you have won over the years and just never used them, they will gladly take those off your hands.

But definitely bring them dollar bills y'all and support the kiddos...these raffles are how they are paying for the Waterslide!!
