In keeping with our rabbitry goals and in order to make room for up and coming grow outs, it's with bittersweet feelings that we are offering some bunnies up for discussion.

Our apologies for the photography and grooming.
Our herd, like many, has just come through a rough molting season and the photos don't really do these bunnies justice. I am more than happy to schedule virtual introductions if you're interested in seeing any of these bunnies in person.

Some of these bunnies will be going to Lionheads Nationals and will be available there for discussion or perhaps entered in the 50/50 Auction.

It may just be a piece of paper to some, but it signifies a goal to me...my first home bred Grand Champion, Registered Lionhead!

Thanks so much to the many who have helped me realize this goal through their mentorship, support, love, prayers and kindness. I am constantly learning and growing with my love for this endeavor. You all, and these lovely rabbits, make this worth every moment of it. 🐰❤️

Mountain Ledge Tightey Wh**ey enjoying all the attention as an ambassador for ARBA at the VA Farm Festival

Over 500 kids from schools around VA visited exhibits highlighting different aspects of agriculture.

Our Wh**ey and Audie, along with some other rabbits represented some of the different breeds and offered kids lots of opportunities for questions and petting.

Needless to say, Wh**ey and Audie were loving the attention.

Well we just finished up with our first Lionhead Nationals and Specialties Shows. What a great experience! Almost 300 BEAUTIFUL Lionheads on exhibition by rabbitries from all across the country. It's a great opportunity to talk with and learn from some of the best breeders in the nation.

I made the choice to primarily take Rabbit Hole stock. Basically, I wanted to get an idea how my breeding decisions were proving to be goalwise. Where my bunnies excell. Where they needed to make more corrections.

As for their placings with the competition they were facing, I am not disappointed. I have come a good way, but I have a way to go.

As for the ones that aren't RHR bred, I use shows as evaluations on the stock I purchased and their offspring potential. This show proved VERY PROMISING for those bunnies.

Great rabbits, Good friends and lots of fellowship with many who enjoy similar interests; i couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

Thanks to ALL THOSE who planned and worked so hard to pull together such a fun and professional event. I'm sure like everyone else, this exhibitor was impressed and so enjoyed the opportunity you provided.

As for how we did, I'm happy for our first Nationals.

Another show down in the books. A weekend of great fellowship, learning and friendly competition.

We use these as opportunities to rate the quality of our rabbits and evaluate how we are doing with our goals (are we meeting SOP standards, what traits do we need to breed for to reach them, breeding matches, potential keep or cull lists, etc).

When someone says, "How'd you do?" It doesn't bother me if we don't win it all. Of course it is nice when/or if we do. But regardless, we always come away with so much more because we keep this show goal in mind.... use this show as an opportunity to help The Rabbit Hole Ranch reach our overall goals.

Thanks so much to all those who pulled of such a successful show with the Carolina Highlands Rabbits and Roses Show. Plus 2000 rabbits, 75 Lionheads, and it seemed to run very smoothly says alot about your planning and hard work. Not to mention that everyone seemed to have a great time!

Our first litter of potential show Hollands are coming along nicely. So much energy and so friendly. The tortes are definitely first to the feed bunk after their rubbins and it shows 🤣🥰. Chubby bubbies🥰 Definitely watching how much these guys eat. They all love their daily lovin' and groom session. We'll soon be working on posing. Thanks so much Charlene Everette for this experience and helping me learn how to walk through the process. I'm so excited to see how these Littles sort out when evaluated. 🐰🥰

These are just some "Wild and Crazy Guys" looking for some new exciting adventures. Located in Christiansburg VA. Pedigree, but will not be traveling with paperwork because they are not show quality. They will however, make BEAUTIFUL pets and brood animals. Both carry Vienna. Winken, the DM lionhead, also carries chocolate in his pedigree.

I hate it...,they have been one one the lovingest bunch of Littles I've ever raised. Guess it's because of their parents. One, already a Therapy Littles, and Audie...well you know him (and you love him 🤣🥰) These babies are leaving here ready for nothing but constant love and companionship. They thrive human touch. And in return, they give unconditional love. They do leave here without paperwork. They are not full pedigree. 1/2 Lionlop x 1/2 Fuzzy Lop. They carry Vienna. Some are marked with Audies beautiful blue eyes. Currently named Eenie, Meanie, Miney, Moe. 3 bucks ( 2 Fuzzy), 1 Charlie Fuzzy doe. Located in Christiansburg VA. Breakfast with the Therapy Littles 6/2022

Breakfast with our Therapy Littles this morning. They are growing so fast and progressing very well. We had a pleasant suspicion this week confirmed by our good friend, Charlene Everette or CKS Hair/FoxAllen Farms. We have 3 Fuzzies in this group! Fuzzies are bunnies that express the fuzzy gene which is recessive. It means both parents have to carry that gene to get a Fuzzy. Our buck, Audie, is a Fuzzy Holland. We love him to pieces despite his anitics🐰🤣🥰 . That means that our Katie Girl bunny must be carrying the trait also. For you experienced in rabbitry, I don't post this to insult your intelligence, but to educate anyone who sees The Ranch's page and is a novice like I once was AND STILL AM at many things that deal with rabbitry. I am constantly learning..Every day! I hope that this little tidbit of information will help you understand a small piece of the enormous world of rabbit genetics. It's an extremely amazing subject that branches into many aspects; colors, traits, breeds, size, etc... Perhaps that in itself is why scientists have found them excellent subjects for study, not just their excellent reproduction capabilities. The world of rabbits continues to amaze and intrigue me everyday with the opportunities it presents us. Many I haven't begun to mention. So don't be surprised if every now and then, just FYI, you come across a post from me or The Rabbit Hole Ranch with something cool about rabbits...just for the (bunny) fun of it 🐰🥰.
