Very busy finish of last week - after our youth summer horse camp program was over on Friday, we went straight to Silver Sands Dressage Shows for the 2024 Battle of the Dressage Barns . Mikayla Kearney had eight riders competing- a few had experience competing at dressage shows - most had never competed at a dressage show!- she’s very proud of how the horses and riders handled the rain and the heat 😉🥵😂. We missed first place team by less than half a point!!😔😉- congratulations to all the teams on a great show.!! Some highlights – Harlow Chambers and Ozzy were champion in the junior training division, Katie Taylor and Count were reserve champion in the Adult training division, Jesse McGuire and Nemo were junior rider over all high score of the day and champion in the USEA division , Paula Lamb and Jared won both of their western dressage tests, Alexa and Wally were 2nd and 3rd in their intro tests, Mikayla and Ollie and Liz and Knight and Sondra and Owen brought home some nice ribbons in their training tests. Lots of helping hands - much thanks to Steven , Cassidy , and Patty🙏 — even Grampa Hagemeister came to watch as well. 😍. Was a lovely day under the shade of the covered arena. Thanks to all the Silver Sands volunteers for a great show 👍👏.

She’s back !!👏 Mikayla Kearney officially back in Florida . 👍🙏 Busy day - 3 horses to ride and 10 lessons in the morning - a virtual lesson with some clients in Colorado in the evening 😅😉.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the hunter/jumper/dressage/eventing mom’s out there – whether they’re at the farm carrying the grooming bag and lugging the tack or riding themselves and making sure everything at home still gets done !👩‍👦🌷 We appreciate all you do to help make your children’s dreams come true!💗 A few of our Lesson students and their moms this morning – had many more that weren’t able to spend the day with their moms so sending them out some❤️ ! Grateful to be spending the day with Mikayla Kearney 🙏

Congratulations to Sondra Chambers one of our wonderful adult riders on her new mount - Granny’s Kitten – AKA Owen - a 12-year-old OTTB gelding. It took a lot of trips to Ocala and working with Mikayla Kearney in Colorado , but we think we got a good one! Thanks to Madison Wayda Smith for the quick sale!

Decided to offer a last minute Young Rider Mini Camp this morning – no school due to the MLK holiday. Eight young riders participated. Beautiful Florida winter weather -sun was out - temperature was perfect!👍 ☀️ Super super proud of these young riders spending their day off from school with the horses - they worked really hard and had a great time. Don’t usually post this long of a video, but there’s some really great nuggets of information (so be sure to have sound up 😉) and wanted to make sure to include all their hard work , and how they worked so well together! 👏🐎

✨Happy New Year! Thank you to all of our incredible clients and four-legged friends for such a wonderful year!✨We are excited to kick off 2024 with a bang and continue this journey with all of you. Here are a few of our favorite memories from 2023–successes at horse shows early in the year, IEA, summer camp, birthdays , lunch with friends , much needed European vacation, our fall horse show, Christmas party, 2024 calendar and finally the horses happily grazing on New Years’s Eve ! 🥰🐴.

Busy last weekend! – started off with a coyote encounter😮, then a motorized paraglider flying overhead while bringing horses in🤦‍♀️, and that was just the first hour of the day on Saturday morning!! 🤣 Overall a wonderful weekend with lesson students and their horses having awesome rides 👏. Liz Mason had a lesson on one of our OTTB lesson horses Knight who’s new to dressage and did a lovely job working on suppleness 👍 . Mikenda Farm is one of the largest equine facilities in Central Florida providing quality full board and instruction in dressage,hunt seat,jumpers and eventing. We are convenient to Oviedo, UCF, and the East Orlando area.

Mikenda Farm welcomes students for lessons at our facility ranging from beginner young riders to experienced adult amateurs. Boarding clients enjoy sharing time with their horses at our spacious 40 acre facility with an 18 stall barn, shaded and covered wash areas, air-conditioned client lounge, 3/10 mile exercise track, lighted arena, cross country obstacles, dressage arenas, grass jump course, and 10 acres of private trails. We provide lessons and training in dressage, hunters, jumpers, and eventing with coaching and hauling to local as well as rated competitions.
