12/04/13 - 12/10/23 🐕🦺 🐾💕 🎀 had a little accident towards the end of the week 😢 thanks to for helping me out & taking me to Sachi. I could tell by Sachi facial expression she was concerned about my well being & went to me to help me out & didn't leave me throughout the day.

Once again, another busy work week, sitting, heeling, down, under under the desk, on the wall, gentle, say hi, stay, socializing, always working, always perfecting our skills 🎄

10/23/23 - 10/29/23 3 of 3 🐕🦺 🎀 Another busy work week. Everyone at work is getting ready for Halloween 🎃 so we began to prepare for the festivities. We accepted the pumpkin 🎃 challenge and posted some pictures balancing the pumpkin 🎃, holding a bucket 🪣, sit, stay and watch me. We also worked on heel, wait, watch me, check it out, leave it, take it gentle. Always working on perfecting our skills and learning new ones. Went to a dental appt., grooming appt., market pop-up & bought some delicious cookies with 's Pawnaderia and a doggie Halloween 🎃 party. We also entered a Halloween costume contest and won 🏆 🙂.

10/09/23 - 10/15/23 2 of 2 🐕🦺 🐾💕 🎀 once again another busy work week. A couple of meetings during the week, new supervisor assigned to our team, learned new task and celebrated a supervisors birthday 🎂 🥳 overall a busy but ver productive work week. During the weekend Sachi had a spa bath day with and came out looking amazing as usual 🐾💕 we also went to the Chula Vista farmers market & to the craft fair. Sachi did amazing, a couple of dogs began to react (on leash with their handler) when they passed by us. Sachi did not engage nor responded to that behavior/reaction.
09/11/23 - 09/17/23 1 of 2 🐕🦺 🐾💕 🎀 we had another fun-filled and busy week. This week, we honored a very special lady who is getting ready to begin a new chapter in her life. She is a great role model and mentor, Sachi and I wish her the best in her new adventure. Sachi had her annual wellness check and passed with flying colors. After that, we stopped by the pharmacy and took advantage of the flu shot being offered. Last stop was the dentist office. Sachi stayed on the wall. Doctor felt more comfortable after introducing himself to Sachi 🐾💕. On Saturday we helped Ms. with Mr. Oracle.

THE GIFT OF THE GROWL
Why growling should never be punished and also never be ignored
Not all growls are negative. Some growls are play growls, attention seeking growls, pleasure seeking growls or frustration growls. They may all sound a little different and may be unique to the particular dog. This post is not about different types of growls, but about warning or aggressive growls.
When a dog growls, maybe even at us, the natural human response is to feel offended and maybe even angry. Surely dogs need to learn not to growl, growling is bad, growling is unacceptable, growling is a problem and needs to be punished so a dog learns it’s wrong, disrespectful and not to do it again, right?
NO, this couldn’t be further from the truth! A dog that growls has just provided us with a very valuable communication signal. In their way, they have just communicated to us how they feel without resorting to a bite. Dogs use growling in an attempt to avoid having to resort to biting, not to initiate it. They could just as easily have not even bothered to growl and gone straight to a bite.
Growling is a dog's way of saying "please stop," "stay away from me," "go away," “I’m not comfortable with this and I’m feeling threatened”. A dog that growls is trying hard to communicate and punishment suppresses this ability to communicate. Punishment doesn’t change the level of the dog's discomfort; it creates more stress and the dog will feel more threatened.
Growling is not the problem. Growling is the result of and the symptom of a problem. A dog that bites without the warning of a growl is a far more serious problem than a dog that growls but doesn’t bite.
Look for any other early warning signals that may precede a growl. Recognize and take note of what makes your dog feel threatened and create distance between your dog and whatever is triggering them.
Be grateful for the gift of a growl - it provides us with an opportunity to address the cause & prevent the bite.
