As of this morning, we still have over 20 dogs without a kennel, and several more are paired up with dog friends. With the continued overcapacity of the shelter, we desperately need continued support from our community.

The twelve dogs listed below have been given a deadline of August 21st by 5 PM.

As of this morning, 39 dogs are without a kennel.

For the past several weeks, we’ve consistently taken in over 100 animals every week, and our shelter is beyond capacity. We’re facing an incredibly difficult situation, and we need our community to step up and help us.

Beau has been adopted!
Nirvana, Hershel, and Frederick have all been pulled by a rescue organization!

Adoption fees for all of our deadlined dogs are WAIVED! Additionally, we are offering a $350 incentive to any rescue partner who can take any of these dogs into their programs.

We can no longer keep dogs in pop-up crates as a temporary solution. We need your help! We cannot continue to save lives without the consistent support of our community.

The shelter cannot keep up with the number of dogs coming in.

This is the first list. Each Monday a new list will come out with a deadline of the following Friday. The shelter is way beyond capacity..

SMRAS has been overcapacity for over 2 years.

Rescue partners! Through the end of April, SMRAS will make a DONATION to your rescue organization for every medium/large dog (over 30lbs) pulled from our shelter.

Here's the breakdown:
🐶$250 donation for each medium/large dog
🐶$350 donation for each medium/large dog that is heartworm positive, has been at the shelter for over 300 days, OR has special behavioral/medical needs
🐶$500 donation for nursing moms with litters of puppies (any breed, any size)
