It's a bittersweet moment for all of us at Turning Stone Animal Hospital as we prepare to say goodbye to one of our outstanding receptionists, Renee Smith. For the past four years, Renee has been a vital part of our team, contributing to our success almost since the beginning. She is leaving us to focus on caring for her beloved grandchildren. If you have the chance to see her before her last day, please take a moment to express your gratitude for all her hard work and dedication. She will be greatly missed!

We would like to recognize and thank Dr. Jim Hörger for his 35 years (and counting!) of service to Family Practice for Pets. Congratulations on this impressive career milestone! He inspires our team with his continued mentorship and we feel so fortunate to work with him every day. Here’s to many, many more years!

We would like to introduce you to our newest doctor, Dr. Holly Hecox! Dr. Hecox has been with Family Practice for Pets since 2017. Her journey began as a high school student shadowing, continued as an intern during vet school at Texas A&M, and has come back full circle to return as a veterinarian. We are proud of all of her accomplishments and look forward to introducing her to your beloved furry family members.

Est. 1985

Dr. Cottingham along with the help of his wife, Caroline, and two employees began Kitty Hawk Animal Hospital in 1985. The veterinary practice has grown in the intervening years to over 25 support personnel and 4 additional doctors. One of those doctors is Dr. Amie Hooper, Dr. Cottingham and Caroline’s daughter.

With 33 years of continued growth and much prayer and consideration, we have decided to open a second location. One far enough away from the current location to serve a whole new community of pet owners, but close enough to give some relief to the Kitty Hawk facilities.
