Do you take your cat to the vet every year? You should! Along with routine vaccines, annual exams and blood work will alert you to any underlying health issues that may have popped up. Cats are masters at hiding illness, so knowing their baseline, and any medical changes, can seriously prolong your cat's life and wellbeing.

Always make note of any changes to share with your vet, and senior cats benefit from twice a year visits. 💜

Our guest of the week this week is Charlie! Charlie is the sweetest fluff; he loves head rubs and playing with a string toy. While he wasn't able to hang out with other cats he made friends with us quickly! He followed us and helped with whatever we needed done, and meowed many stories to us. He was such a delight to have at the spa.

The Fourth of July is tomorrow, already! We thought we'd share some tips for keeping your cat calm, cool, and collected during the fireworks happening tomorrow and this weekend!

🏠 Make sure your cat stays indoors. If they're used to being outside, make sure to bring them back in before dark.

💤 Provide a safe and calm space at home for kitty to hide or nap.

🎆 Mask the sound of fireworks with white noise or calming music.

💕 If you can stay home with them, please do! Especially if they're afraid, kitty will find comfort in your presence.

This month is dedicated to raising awareness, and remembering to keep your pet from getting lost. Microchip your cat, get a collar with ID tags, don't let them roam overnight, spay and neuter, and be safe in the car! Let's keep our cats safe at home with us 💜😺

What is your favorite cat breed?

Today were highlighting the Siamese as one of our friendliest cat breeds. While some can be quite opinionated, Siamese are usually very sweet and loving! They're smart and inquisitive, and very loyal and affectionate to their humans 💜

Is there an age limit for boarding? This is one of our most frequently asked questions, and the answer is yes. We require all cats to be at least six months old, since this is the age they're old enough to have finished their kitten vaccines, and to have been spayed or neutered.

We also don't board cats 15+ because they are considered geriatric, and are susceptible to sudden or unexpected health concerns, which we aren't equipped to handle.

We always strive to provide you and your cat with the safest, most comfortable experience, and are happy to recommend an alternate facility or pet sitter in the event your cat is unable to stay with us. It's all about the cat here 💜

Hydration is important for your cat too! Drinking enough water is essential for kitties health, and helps prevent certain concerns like UTIs and kidney issues. Always have water available for your cat, and change the water daily, so it stays fresh and clean. Be sure to wash or wipe out the bowl, too, or that slimy mildew will build up in it.

Does your cat have a hard time drinking because they prefer to drink from the sink? Try a fountain! A fountain will provide the crisp, flowing water kitty prefers.
