The female is in Ontario, the golden boy is close by in Cincinnati. The Tri-color boy is with me, living his best life.

Today was an unscheduled bath day for these two boys. The good thing is that their fur is soft and silky and stays pretty de-tangled. I’m growing out their coats so they can be shown this fall… unless either finds a new home first. 😉☺️

One of my favorite traits about Havanese is how good they are with kids! I’ve been at the park with my mama Ellie when a young toddler (not old enough to know better—she was just walking) came up to her and very suddenly grabbed the sides of her face. I didn’t see it coming, and neither did her mother. Since her arms were so little, her face was right by Ellie’s mouth. It could have ended SO badly. Instead, Ellie sat down and looked up at me, with a look that said “would you please take care of this tiny human?” The child’s mother was so relieved. She knew that most small dogs would not have tolerated that treatment.

Ellie got extra praise that day, and I felt so confident in my dog that I can trust her to never hurt anyone. I can put her on my grandma’s lap or let kids hold her leash. She’s the mother of my current puppies, and they have been entertaining kids as young as 3 since they were very small.
