UPDATE!

We have been so busy we’ve not had a chance to update you on some of the projects we’ve recently installed.

Here is an update on the Great American Ballpark Aquarium in the machine room . First a shout out to the awesome Ballpark staff that did an amazing job on the custom Woodwork. we really love how they integrated the new Cincinnati Reds city connect logo into the stand. We’ve had two groups of Fish already added to this exhibit with quite a bit more to come. Will keep you updated on this Aquarium and several more that are coming!!

We installed this custom double bowfront reef a couple of years ago. This system has remote filtration, Apex online monitoring/control, and receives a weekly service visit.

We have so many clients that we install Reef aquariums for that are predominantly SPS and LPS corals . This client really loves soft corals, we really think this is just as beautiful!

We started the installation of this 550 gallon custom reef aquarium a few months ago.

This exhibit sits in this basement of a new custom home which leads out to a beautiful infinity pool.

The set up includes not just a custom acrylic Aquarium, but an entire filtration room with oversized sump, external protein skimmer, and Apex, monitoring and control.

Now that this Aquarium has fully cycled it’s ready for Fish, Coral, and vertebrates . We will have more photos as we start adding animals.

We are very lucky to have an amazing staff here at Cincinnati Aquarium Design! A company will only be successful with good, hard-working employees!

We Would like to recognize George Hensley on his 10 years of employment here.

For all of you that know George this will not come to you as a surprise . Not only is George dedicated, he has an impeccable work ethic, great knowledge, and most importantly you can always count on him to be there!

George, we want to thank you for everything you do (even at 5:30 AM) which he would probably prefer! You always go the extra mile and do that little something special for everyone!

We’re very excited to partner up with the Cincinnati Reds, adding aquariums to Great American Ballpark!

Our first edition to the ballpark is this Custom bowfront Aquarium in the machine room. This part of the ballpark is named after the “Big Red Machine “. Stay connected for more on this project as the custom woodwork and animals are added, and more exciting things around the ballpark.

Just another day at the office!

This awesome exhibit that we installed many years ago, receives 3 service visits per week. We do this not just for the ongoing maintenance of the Aquarium, but also because we can hand feed all of the sharks three days a week making sure they are receiving proper nutrition.

We have several new installations coming up. We will be starting this 550 gallon custom reef aquarium in the next couple of weeks.

This will be built into a wall, framed In, and will have a fully custom filtration room built behind it. This will will give proper room for all the equipment needed, and the most efficient maintenance possible.

We designed and installed this custom Aquarium in Louisville a few years back. This aquarium has some unique features, including a hidden pocket door to conceal the filtration room behind the Aquarium. The life-support system also includes some additional reactors for things like bio pellets and GFO keep our water parameters perfect, due to the fact that this Aquarium has quite a few large fish and some sharks which gives us a larger bio load. With Apex monitoring and weekly visits by our local Louisville technician, Chris , this Aquarium is always in perfect working order.

This is an interesting tank, with a unique angle on the left (viewable) side on the aquarium. this custom build also has remote filtration down in the basement. Apex monitoring and control.

We installed this 20 foot long custom aquarium back in 2018.

A few months ago the client came to us and said “I love that aquarium, but I would like change the theme”. This exhibit what setup with larger more aggressive fish, and now the client wanted to change it to a reef aquarium.

So we removed the aggressive fish that were not compatible with the new reef environment, upgraded the lighting, add more to the filtration, expanded the control and capability of the Apex system, and added additional flow in the Aquarium.

The client was thrilled with the results so far. We had added around 35 corals to this exhibit so far. We have quite a bit more that we’re going to be adding over the next several months, so stay connected for updates.

We have been so busy we have not had a chance to catch everyone up on some of our custom projects. Here’s a small sampling of what we’ve been working on.

From aquariums in home libraries , to lake houses, basement family rooms, newly remodeled kitchens, custom in wall freshwater tanks, and even a L shaped turtle exhibit in a state park with custom built in basking areas. These are just a small example of what we’ve been working on lately.

Stay connected we have some amazing projects that will be sharing with you all here shortly. A couple of these are really over the top, and one of them is in a pretty amazing location!

We installed this custom bow front reef in this family room. With a once per week service and online monitoring this aquarium stays in great shape!

We installed this custom reef aquarium in the board room of this amazing office building in Columbus Ohio. This beautiful exhibit gets two services per week to keep it always looking perfect for every meeting.

We installed this custom saltwater aquarium a few years back. This account gets a weekly visit and with a large remote filtration system in the basement and Apex online monitoring and control. We get an amazing healthy exhibit! Also thanks to our long time custom woodworking partner Miller & Slay Woodworking, not only did they work around the aquarium, but the entire custom bar also. As always, they knock it out of the park.

What’s on the menu today for this Fly River Turtle? Well some strawberries and apples. Yum!

A great view into one of our clients exhibits. It’s amazing when you catch it just the right time of the day and you get all this beautiful natural light coming down from an enormous skylight.

We are happy to introduce the newest edition to this amazing exhibit, The Fly River Turtle. Fly River turtles are named for a river they inhabit in Papua New Guinea but are also found elsewhere, including lowland Papua New Guinea, northern Australia and southern Indonesia. They are mostly a fully aquatic turtle. They grow up to 27” and can weigh up to 66 pounds. This guy is 14” and about 11 pounds. The Fly river turtles are omnivores, but most of their diet is derived from plant material and fruits. We are very happy to report that this guy has adapted to his new home and is doing well! We installed the custom aquarium a couple of years ago. It’s home to some Epaulet sharks, rabbit fish, several wrasses, hogfish, lots of Tangs, and one really big Lion fish.

The Amazon exhibit is really coming together. With Arowana, rays, and red hooks the aquarium it starting to fill up. We still have a few more very cool things to add.
