This post is a little late but last week we saw some adorable creatures that made our hearts smile. We vaccinated a gorgeous litter of golden puppies, and boostered some super cute Bracco Italiano.

Is it a full moon, because we are feeling the energy. This week we have performed four c-sections, a pyometra surgery, and we have had regular appointments. Between the four C-sections we brought 21 puppies into the world!

On Thursday, I was having trouble with my SUV, and my fiance drove to work to look at it for me. While he was at the clinic, I was about to x-ray a pomeranian to count puppies. He didn't hesitate to throw on an x-ray gown and help me grab the x-ray. He also helped me check the fetal heartbeats via ultrasound. Would you say that he's a keeper?

This might be a breed for those of you looking for a hypoallergenic breed. ( Remember, Hypoallergenic mean less likely to cause an allergic reaction not that they won't cause one.)

The barbet is a rustic breed of water dog originally bred in France. The barbets appearance and good nature makes them irresistibly cute, BUT they do require frequent coat up keep, and regular trips to the groomer to keep their cute curly locks from becoming a pelted mess. Barbets are an active and sturdy breed that love water, so before bringing home that adorable puppy make sure that your lifestyle can accommodate such an active breed of dog!

Dr. Linda whelped this beautiful litter of Barbets for a client last night. At 2:19 in the morning she sent me a text with them all cuddle in the incubator.

Meet the Bernese Mountain Dog!

The Bernes Mountain Dog was originally bred in Switzerland where they were used to drove cattle and draft carts on the farms. Despite their large size the breed is extremely docile, smart, and they make wonderful family pets. The Berner does require frequent grooming to help minimize shedding, but after grooming they have a luxuriously soft and beautiful tri colored coat making your efforts totally worth it! The breed does, however have some hereditary health ailments that make it imperative for those seeking a Bernese puppy to look for breeders that are completing all breed specific health testing, and breeders that are transparent about their breeding program. I have linked the Bernese mountain dog Club's code of ethics and a link to OFA for the breeds required testing for those interested in learning more!
