Who we were:

Founded in 2009 by the Enright Ridge Urban Ecovillage (ERUEV), Urban Earth Farms provides shares of vegetables for up to 45 families through our Community Supported Agriculture Program (CSA). CSA Shareholders receive a weekly share every Saturday morning from May

– November. In 2020 we decided that we would no longer be able to bear the burden of being providers for so many families. How A CSA works

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) means our food is grown and financially-supported by our shareholders. Most CSAs are created by forming a contract between a farmer and a group of people who pay in advance for the crops the farmer grows.

Make it a Local Thanksgiving & Holiday Season

November is the time of year we reflect on our gratitude for the year's abundant harvest. We would like to thank all our farmers, farm workers and food system workers who are essential to growing our food and getting it to our tables.

Supporting our regional farmers and food artisans helps shorten supply chains, supports ecologically regenerative farming, builds our local economy and increases regional food security. Let's make it a local Thanksgiving and holiday season!

Check out the many ways you can buy local foods in our region. Pre-order your turkey from a local farm and join the Hyde Park Farmers' Market for their annual Turkey Tuesday Thanksgiving Harvest Celebration.
We also encourage everyone to support our local food banks, which are facing increased costs due to ongoing supply chain issues.

Our Story

Who we are Founded in 2009 by the Enright Ridge Urban Ecovillage (ERUEV), Urban Earth Farms provides shares of vegetables for up to 30 families through our Community Supported Agriculture Program (CSA). CSA Shareholders receive a weekly share every Saturday morning from May – November. How we work Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) means our food is grown and financially-supported by our shareholders. Most CSAs are created by forming a contract between a farmer and a group of people who pay in advance for the crops the farmer grows. In addition to providing food for full paying shareholders, we offer a CSA Workshare Program. We provide our working shareholders with in-depth, hands-on training in urban farming, and in exchange, workers receive a weekly share of the bounty.
