Urban Earth Farms

Urban Earth Farms UEF is an urban farm in west Cincinnati, OH. We are a part of Tending Roots Eco-collaborative. Today, we have a yearly plant sale fundraiser in the Spring.

Who we were:

Urban Earth Farms was founded in 2009 to provide a CSA for the community. We use all organic practices, from seeds, soil and growing techniques. We partner with two wonderful organizations; Cincinnati Permaculture Institute and Our Harvest Coop. CPI can be accessed through our greenhouse entrance and provide hours on the weekends or appointments during the week. We are also a CSA pic

How A CSA works

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) means our food is grown and financially-supported by our shareholders. Most CSAs are created by forming a contract between a farmer and a group of people who pay in advance for the crops the farmer grows.

We are so lucky to have many beautiful birds in our area. Why not set out a buffet of plants that provide them with food they can forage instead of relying on feeders? The Bird Collection offers them needed food by attracting the insects they need for their young and seeds for the adult birds. Plants include Columbine, Partridge Pea, Purple Coneflower, Cup Plant and Showy Sunflower.

Our Story

Who we are Founded in 2009 by the Enright Ridge Urban Ecovillage (ERUEV), Urban Earth Farms provides shares of vegetables for up to 30 families through our Community Supported Agriculture Program (CSA). CSA Shareholders receive a weekly share every Saturday morning from May – November. How we work Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) means our food is grown and financially-supported by our shareholders. Most CSAs are created by forming a contract between a farmer and a group of people who pay in advance for the crops the farmer grows. In addition to providing food for full paying shareholders, we offer a CSA Workshare Program. We provide our working shareholders with in-depth, hands-on training in urban farming, and in exchange, workers receive a weekly share of the bounty.
