It's what you all have been waiting for!

Pets First Nationwide brings to you EMERGENCY RELIEF FOUNDATION E.R.F

What is it? It is a program that is funded by the public thru donations. It will allow us to evolve into the next stage in our organization. We will be able to help those people and animals in dire need. Over the last few years many rescues, sanctuaries and private individuals have become overwhelmed with all the animals in need. Some of those due to EMERGENCY placement and some due to no one fault but life itself.

The E.R.F will allow us to go mobile and help facilities, private homes and rescues fix their animal enclosures or kennels in order to keep those animals safe. The things that could cause any of this would be things such as natural disasters or what we can an act of God.

Here are some examples of what we would be doing. I.e. a facility had trees fall down on their enclosures breaching containment. Temporarily these animals are in a holding area. PFN would come and fix the affected area using usda standards along with International Residential Code standards. Allowing these animals to go back into their enclosures as quick as possible.

Who can apply? Facilities that have a business license, non profit locations that have non-profit listed thru their state and is in good standing and residents.

How do we choose? Anyone needing E.R.F will go to our website and apply. All applications will be verified and a letter of acceptance will be sent out. Then all applications will be prioritized to the order in which they were received. Not everyone will be approved and that's is solely based on the type of emergency they have.

How is this funded? Thru the public with donations. We are accepting vendors for materials and supply.

Pay it forward. All Facilities will donate 15% of the job total and residential along with non-profit organizations will donate 10% of job total. This will allow everyone to help the next person in line. It will truly be a pay it forward program.

We talk about animals well being. How we can help our pets thrive in our world. How we can provide the environment they need.

Gambit and Sox are a great example.

While both were born and raised here at our facility, over time as they matured. We started to notice ways they became bottled up mentally, not able to release their full potential. After months of consulting a few animal behaviorist, we made the decision to move Sox in 2020 to WSWS. Over the years it was hard finding a long term mate for her there and keeping up with her progress from the director Brittany McDonald and her caretaker Katie Forbis. We made another decision to move Gambit, her younger but much bigger brother to be with her. We knew that they were great together. PFN felt that it would still be a match and sure enough it was.

We are glad to have them together and in return it has brought Sox out of her shell to be more happy with daily interactions with the staff at WSWS.

Animals live in the moment, as we live in the future. All became a happy ending. They will still be our fur kids but more like they are way at college 🙂.

Good morning on this Labor Day.

We are back in the Midwest. As we move forward, this is a time to reflect. Over the last 12 years, Pets First has went thru a few redevelopment stages. In the beginning we focused on bringing the community and cities we live in together. Then we shifted focus on helping animals of all kinds have a better life with their human counterparts. Now, what does the future hold?

That's where we are asking our community. Pets First is known to be a voice for those that can't be heard and still will. As they say, it takes a village to build.

So...... what does our supporters want? How can we make a difference?

After 3 hours, a bag full of fur and a full defurring king falcon is 20lbs lighter. It's his first professional groom ever. Thirteen years old and still moving along.

We are now holding interviews to add additional team members. As we plant our roots back here in Texas, we excited about the support and opportunities ahead. This is non profit location and you can locate us thru the IRS and also guidestar.org

What does that mean for our future team members? It means you can build a legacy, do something that good for humanity and save the lives of various animals.

What we are looking for. We are looking for a grant writer, animal care team members, vet/ vet tech students and event planning personnel. You must have a rock solid commitment to seeing something all the way thru, great report with your community and above all else have a commitment to yourself.

How do you apply? Visit www.petsfirstnationwide.com go to our volunteer tab and sigh a waiver along with a volunteer form. All personnel on property must have a waiver.

Fun fact: not all hybrids are wolfdogs and not all wolfdogs are hybrids. Do you know the difference? That's why it is important to educate the public, so we can dispel any misinformation.

Remember, good husbandry practices make for a better cared for pet / companion animal.

What are you seeing are two wolfdogs. One which is embarked at 95% and then her daughter at 83%. Why are the percentages important?

Wolfdogs as they mature become same s*x aggressive. Usually dealing with 2 females. This is due to territorial and dominance. It's not advised to keep females together but during this supervised time, summer displayed the urge to see blue. It was a very subtle welcome so we are letting them try out this new adventure.

In the video, you can see blue give some interest in summer scent rolling but she also is 7 years older and is feeling her age. Summer is now 4 and usually controls her enclosure but since she is in blue's, she is respectful to boundaries.
