Starla and Ringo had a rough start to life. They were brought to us separately, by different people who found them at different locations. Starla and Ringo were both strays who were micro-chipped, but here’s the catch- they were micro-chipped to the same family! We attempted to contact the registered owners with no response. We then reported the found cats to the ASPCA but sadly, no one was looking for them.
At that point we knew we had to try and find Starla and Ringo new homes, so Dr. Albrecht examined both cats to make sure they were healthy for adoption. Starla appeared healthy other than a slight eye infection. However, Ringo had one of the worst cases of ringworm we had ever seen. His skin was covered in the rash and he was extremely itchy. We had to shave Ringo’s fur to treat the infected areas with weekly lyme dip baths. He did not seem to mind the baths!
Despite the conditions Starla and Ringo were left in, they had a lot of love to offer and were thankful for food and a warm bed. One month after their arrival, Starla was adopted by one of our staff members, and we receive many pictures of her with her new family! She now enjoys playing with her dog, cat, rabbit and even small human friends!
Ringo still needed to stay due to the severity of his ringworm. He has grown to love our staff and will soon to be going home with a family whose dog (named River) was recently hospitalized. Ringo was directly across from River during her stay here. Her owners brought Ringo toys and treats and grew to love him very much. Overtime the family decided that they would give Ringo a forever home!
We are over the moon to know that these two cats have a happy forever homes!
