This week, we shine a light on the amazing dogs who can’t hear but show us there’s more than one way to communicate love. Deaf Dog Awareness Week was created to educate pet parents about deafness in dogs, break down stigmas, and highlight just how wonderful life with a deaf dog can be.

Why it’s important: Around 35,000 dogs in the U.S. are deaf in both ears, and many more are affected by partial hearing loss. Despite this challenge, deaf dogs are just as trainable, loyal, and loving as any other pup—they just listen with their hearts and eyes!
