We were contacted a few days ago about an injured cat,Kelly. She had an injured leg with an open wound from dragging while walking. It’s unclear how the injury originated but our vet suspects her leg was stuck and it’s a pull injury. Yesterday, her dead leg was amputated and she was spayed. She’s healing nicely and is sweet as can be. Her intake was an unplanned expense, but her finder couldnt find another place to take her. If you’d like to contribute toward the cost of her care we would appreciate it.

Emerson is available for adoption. This boy is super sweet and does great with other cats. He’s FeLV positive so he’ll need to be an only cat or live with other FeLV positive cats. FeLV is not contagious to dogs or people. If you’d like to meet Emerson email [email protected]

HOLIDAY CANNED FOOD DRIVE
We received 7,109 cans of canned cat food from our wonderful Scratching Post Supporters - YAY! Although is is short of our goal of 7,625, we are counting it as a win because we also received $815 in cash and Chewy gift cards! The cash and cards helped purchase the prescription food need for Dens 2, 3, 12, and the vet room.

YOU DID IT!!! YAY!!! $20,000 Matching Gift Challenge Update
Thanks to your amazing generosity, we raised $28,010 so far for the Matching Gift Challenge. When we told Mittens hoo-man, she said she would match what was raised. We then had a supporter do a counter challenge! He donated an additional $10,000 and challenged Mitten's Mama to match it and she said yes!! WOW!!!!! WE ARE SPEECHLESS!!!! So that is a total of $76,020 raised for maintenance/improvements for the shelter. It sounds like a lot but we recently had one of the three HVAC units go out. A kind supporter has donated the cost of the replacement unit but we still have two other units that are just as old. We are now looking at a new hot water heater and replacing some of the doors in the shelter along with some necessary improvements. We are going to draw for the VISA gift card in mid-January so any donations made this week have a chance to get to us and get in the raffle draw.
