Are you socializing your pup enough? The more you have them out in all conditions, the more rounded they will be the rest of their lives.
So bring them with you. The 1st year they are sponges.
This is Daphine my Grandpup she is 4 months old and pretty sure has been to every outside drinking spot in the city.

I love when my world's combined. The little ones that have been part of my life (for 5.5 years ) got to meet and cuddle pups before going home day.
I have said many times how much raising kids and puppies are similar. They need guidance (discipline) followed by lots of love, (cuddles, good jobs ) and above all fun!
I am so thankful to have had both of these in my life.
