We’re heartbroken to share that one of our long-time clients has recently passed away, leaving behind her sweet kitty, Butter. 💛 Butter is an affectionate little one who loves belly rubs, cuddles, and making biscuits (his kneading game is top-notch!). He’s looking for a new family to give him all the love and attention he deserves.

Meet sweet Gus! 🐾 This handsome boy was in the other day for his neuter surgery, and he’s on the road to recovery!💙 Neutering your pets is one of the best ways to keep them healthy and help control the pet population. It can prevent certain cancers, reduce behavioral issues, and ensure fewer unwanted litters!

Clover was left at our clinic in heartbreaking condition—paralyzed, covered in larvae, and in desperate need of care. We were able to provide the life-saving treatments she needed. Thanks to our donors and Clover’s foster mom, Mona, she is healthy and thriving.💕

The SPCA Cincinnati is proud to announce Chris Seelbach as its next President & CEO, effective April 1, 2025. With a strong background in leadership and a deep commitment to animal welfare, Chris brings invaluable experience that will further propel the SPCA Cincinnati's lifesaving mission.

Chris has served as the Executive Director of Ohio Alleycat Resource & Spay/Neuter Clinic (OAR) for the past two years, following a decade on Cincinnati City Council, where he served as President for his final two years. His passion for animal welfare was recognized nationally when he was named "Humane Legislator of the Year" in 2020 by the Humane Society of the United States of America. He is also Cincinnati’s only White House "Champion of Change" under President Barack Obama. Chris lives in the historic Over-the-Rhine neighborhood with his husband, Craig Schultz, and their three beloved cats—Jerry, Doe, and Dottie.

In response to his appointment, Chris shared:
"I am incredibly honored to step into the role of President & CEO of the SPCA Cincinnati, the region’s largest and most historic animal welfare organization, serving Greater Cincinnati for over 150 years.

I am deeply grateful to the SPCA Cincinnati Board of Directors for their confidence in me and this opportunity, and I also want to sincerely thank Mike Retzlaff for his decades of dedication to this organization and his lasting impact on both animals and our community.

Animal welfare has the power to bring us together, and I am honored to lead this incredible team in creating an even greater impact. With enthusiasm, humility, and a deep commitment to SPCA Cincinnati’s lifesaving legacy and mission, I look forward to strengthening our role as the leading voice for animals and the people who love and care for them in Greater Cincinnati."
