✨ Meet Howie, the golden retriever who’s been one of my dog walking buddies since he was just a lil pup back in April. This past week, he got to experience his very first Peace & Paws staycation! 💛

Between our daily walks, obedience training sessions (to make sure we established that I was the one calling the shots 😉), and endless playtime with his favorite toys, we built an even deeper bond. Of course, true to golden fashion, he did try to steal my socks and even my favorite hoodie—apparently, sharing clothes is part of friendship in his book. 🧦🐾

“Why do sitters charge that much?” 👀

Let’s be real… this isn’t just cuddles, potty breaks, and Netflix on your couch.
This is:
🌙 Nights away from our own homes + families
💸 Business costs most people never think about (insurance, gas, licenses, overhead)
🐕 Training, pet CPR, emergencies etc
📲 Constant updates + communication
🥱 Missing birthdays, holidays, and even sleep so your pets aren’t alone

And don’t forget, most of us are a one-person show running an entire household while you’re gone.

So yeah, rates reflect way more than “just hanging out with dogs.”
They reflect professionalism, reliability, and the kind of peace of mind you can’t put a price tag on.

They say reactive dogs can’t enjoy the park… but Canna just proved them wrong 💜

Reactive doesn’t mean broken. It doesn’t mean ‘bad dog.’ It means they process the world differently — and it’s our job to advocate, protect their space, and set them up for success. 👏🏼

Park visits like this are VERY VERY rare for Canna and me (I literally have to time them perfectly) — but when we get the chance, she thrives. Running free, chasing the ball, letting all that energy pour out. You can literally see her spirit light up 🐕💨

Yeah, it’s not always easy. My head’s on a swivel every second — watching every door and gate, every leash, every noise, every person, every tail flick in my view. If I can do it, so can you. (Seriously, fellow dog owners, don’t be oblivious 👀 leash up and respect the space!)

But when the park clears, when she finally gets her moment… THIS is what you see: pure joy, freedom, and a dog who feels safe enough to shine. 🐾✨

Here’s to all the reactive dog parents out there. You’re not alone. And your pup? They’re the main character every single time.
