Furry Feature of the Week – Ella!

Meet Ella! Ella is a stunning dilute tortoiseshell, the picture of elegance with her unique markings that are presented in soft muted colors. Along with her beautiful coat, she is a work of art coming to life since she is shy and reserved until she feels totally comfortable.

Ella came in from a home with several other cats, since their owner passed away suddenly. She now resides in one of our large rooms with other kittymates, but does not seem to be particularly interested in befriending them. She is still learning that she is safe and that our volunteers want to shower her with the love she deserves. Once she feels secure, she reveals her affectionate side. She will quietly seek your attention, leaning into gentle pets and enjoying the bond you are building together.

Ella is perfect for someone who understands that the best relationships take time and are worth every moment. If you are looking for a gentle soul that may take some time to fully blossom, this gorgeous girl is ready to bloom in your home. DOB: 3/2021

Furry Feature of the Week – Sophie!

Meet Sophie! Sophie is a 2 ½-year-old Boxer Mix and she weighs in at 50 lbs. She has all the best characteristics of a young dog–active, playful, and very affectionate.With her gorgeous brindle coat, beautiful white markings, and a darling Boxer face, she is quite the head turner.

A volunteer spent some one-on-one time with Sophie recently and described her as an angel. Sophie is one of those rescue dogs who seems to know her life is improving and lets you know how appreciative she is.

Rescued by our sister shelter in Kentucky, we then agreed to bring Sophie to STAF and find her a wonderful, loving, new forever home. If you think you might be the home that Sophie is waiting for, please let us know!

Furry Feature of the Week – Iris!

Meet Iris! Iris is a sweet, 3-year-old Border Collie mix. She was found as a stray and this girl is so sweet and so well behaved! Her personality is as colorful as the flower she is named after! Iris is an energetic pup that is always ready for playtime and a good game of fetch!

One of Iris’s best volunteer friends takes her home on occasion and reports that she sleeps well through the night, is housebroken and quiet, a big cuddler, and great in the car and on leash! Iris loves other dogs but she would do best as an only dog or with an easy-going dog that doesn’t mind sharing their space.

After having been abandoned, Iris really becomes attached and loyal to her closest people. She loves meeting people and if you choose her, she will love you endlessly and be the most loyal companion you can find! She may even become the apple of your I-ris.

Furry Feature of the Week – Hank!

Meet Hank! His main goal is to be snuggled and held! Hank is a laid back, silly dude and with his unique grey and white markings, he will attract your eyes immediately. Hank came to us as a shelter transfer from West Virginia, where he was rescued as a stray. Due to his FIV positive status, we were happy to accept him since not all shelters can offer respite if positive.

Hank resides in a room with other kitty mates, and he can definitely be in a home with other pets as long as everyone is cohesive. With Hank's gentle demeanor, and his desire to entertain you with his charm, there should be no doubt that he can live peacefully with others. However, if you have time to offer him lots of personal attention, he would be happy as a one and only. No matter what, Hank just wants to be adored, and he will pay you back with a lifetime of love! DOB: 7/2023
