Kayaking on the Silver river I videoed manatees eating
This video shows me pushing abscess puss from the bottom of the horse’s foot.
The release stream missed my face but, freaked the owner out so it was missed on the video. I never approve of cutting abscesses, it should be allowed to fix what’s wrong the natural way. Generally, when cutting to release the pressure abscesses are missed and a open wound is all that is accomplished. People say blood and clear fluid came out well, that is the internal fluid.
I was doing a normal trim when my knife caught the bar that had rolled over and went back inside the foot, pulling it out allowed the abscess a way out. This often happens, the bars should not be removed but, trimmed when they roll. When horses come to me lame and I don’t like the hooves there is hope, this mare took many trims and around four abscess to return her long toe to normal shape. The owner had to move from a boarding facility to a private farm because everyone wanted to put her down. Now the mare is fully recovered, happy, sound, and being used as a lesson horse.
This clip shows a laminitis stance,
the horse is rocking weight to the hindquarters, also shifting weight from right to left on the front feet as if on a hot plate, and muscle tightness in the barrel region. Laminitis is the swelling of the laminae (inflamed) inside the horse’s foot and can be in multiple feet in this horse’s case.
An abscess stance looks as if the horse has a broken leg caused by pressure created to push out an unwanted material.
Finding your friends favorite itchy spot
A good scratching is a valuable reward and sign of friendship in the horse's world. Everyone should know their horses itchy spots to be successful.
