Lace The Devil Wears Nada – 𝘖𝘳𝘭𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘰 𝘝𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯

We attended our first AHTCA National Specialty and the big Royal Canin AKC show earlier this month! On Friday Nada took best of breed in the Royal Canin Puppy Stakes so we made it to the terrier group on the red carpet (which I was NOT expecting). Then we had fun at our specialty show with all of the American Hairless Terriers including many of Nada’s relatives. Sunday Nada made the cut and took best puppy again in the AKC show. Her cousin then took best of breed in a big lineup and we got to watch them represent the breed under the lights in the big AKC National Championship show.

Overall I’m super proud of my little nekkid for this only being our second show! Nada handled the atmosphere wonderfully. Nobody could’ve prepared me for how big this show was… but it was a blast! I learned a lot and I had so much fun getting to meet so many other AHTs and their handlers. Thank you to everyone who encouraged me or helped us along the way!

Chili takes over WEC 💖

Having never been in a setting like this before (I’ll admit I’ve been bad about socializing other than dog classes and workshops) I was really impressed with how she handled it all! She proved that she really is a stable dog as she got to experience seeing lots of other people, and odd things for the first time like statues, golf carts, Jumbotrons, large flapping flags, and going up and down stairs for the first time etc. Never once did she bark or shy away from anything, just took it all in stride. Thankful for stable dogs and good genetics!

Nada and I went to our first handling class last night to learn about the dog showing world. She’s such a little spitfire and we have a lot to work on in terms of not being a wiggly noodle (everyone is friend shaped of course)… but overall she handled everything great! Super thankful everyone there is supportive and willing to help newbies!
