🌲➡️🌵 Big Life Update 🌲➡️🌵

After a lifetime of calling Oregon home, I’m trading the pines for the piñons and making a big move to Santa Fe, New Mexico!

This decision comes with a mix of excitement, nostalgia, and a little bit of heartbreak. Oregon has shaped so much of who I am, and I’ll always carry its rain, trees, and incredible people with me. But I’m ready for a new adventure-new scenery, new inspiration, and a lot more sunshine.

I visited recently and totally fell in love-the art everywhere, the amazing thunderstorms, the cozy small-town community vibe. It just felt... right. So, I’m packing up, heading south, and seeing what happens next.

Am I nervous? Yep. But l’m also so excited to shake things up, soak in the sun, and maybe even learn how to make green chile stew. 🌶️

I know so many of you will be sad that Shampooch will not be reopening. A lot of you have become friends, more than customers. I miss seeing you and your fuzzy family! This is just an adventure I am very much looking forward to and life is so short you need to grab it while you can!

Before I hit the road, I’ll be throwing a go-away party so l can hug all your beautiful faces and say goodbye the right way. Sept 5th, 6pm at Claim Jumpers Clackamas.

To all my Oregon friends: I love you and I’ll be back to visit (probably often). To my future New Mexico friends: I can’t wait to get to know you and explore everything this beautiful place has to offer.

Help Save Sweet Drevans – A Golden Heart Needs You

Drevans is a 7-year-old golden retriever with the soul of a wise old man, the gentleness of a therapist, and the goofiness of your favorite toddler. He’s calm, playful, soulful—and right now, he’s in trouble.

On June 12th, we almost lost him. Drevans suddenly became lethargic and struggled to breathe. He was rushed to the emergency vet. An ultrasound revealed fluid in his chest, possibly a bleeding tumor. Over a liter of blood was drained, and we were told he had just 12 hours to show signs of improvement—or there was no hope.

His amazing human, Amy, has already poured over $3,000 into emergency care. I went to see him, say my goodbyes as it didn’t look good, it was painful to watch him try to breathe. We gave him his favorite foods (forget the diet!), his golden retriever friend came to visit, and in true Drevans fashion—he wagged his tail, played a short game of tug of war, and chose to fight.

He made it through the night. But he’s not out of the woods yet. The cause has been narrowed down to a tumor or cardiomyopathy, and his next step is seeing a cardiologist—at least $750 more, not counting time Amy has missed from work.

Amy would never ask for help—but I will. This dog is pure magic. Anyone who’s met Drevans falls in love. He stares into your soul and somehow knows exactly what you need. We can’t imagine the world without his warmth, silliness, or that sweet face.

If you can donate any amount, it helps more than you know. If you can’t, we completely understand—but please share this with anyone who might. Amy deserves to focus on helping Drevans heal, not how to pay for it.

.dogs.grooming can do nail trims as well as just a simple bath/dry for your pet. They don’t need to have a full groom. 🛁🫧Sometimes all they need is to be clean and dry….and trust me, the groomers get them REALLY clean!!! 😉😁🥰
