Tomorrow is International Women's Day. Did you know according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, in 2023, nearly 70% of veterinarians were women. That statistic is likely to increase, as the American Association of Veterinary College reports 83% of the veterinary medical class of 2027 are women.

Dr. Ed Gilsleider has over 40 years of experience with equine, food animals, exotics and small animal. Whether you own a large ranch with hundreds of head or simply a small furry family member, you will receive excellent care with Dr. Gilsleider.

A 1982 graduate from the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine, he and his wife, Lisa, moved to Claremore in May 1982, and have never left.

They have raised all four of their children here and are now treasuring their time with grandchildren. There has never been anything else Dr. Gilsleider wanted to do but practice veterinary medicine. He has pioneered corrective leg surgeries for ostriches and emus and has taught these techniques both in the United States and abroad. He is also the veterinarian on call for the Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus and even raises kangaroo and wallabies!
