The most wonderful thing happened!
THE POWER OF LOVE AND A BULLDOG🐶♥️

I took my pup Murphy to Home Depot with me, as we cruised through the isles we were stopped several times by folks asking about him and wanted to love on him. We came upon a woman and a young girl with obvious developmental disabilities. I learned the girl was 12 years old and her name was Abigail. The woman with her was Abigail’s caregiver for the past 4 years.
Abby showed great interest in Murphy and Murphy showed great interest in her. He approached her very slowly and turned his backside to her (as he was taught) she reached out and put her hand on his rear end then she gently laid her head on him. He was so still, so patient and softly loving towards her. When he felt her comfort with him, he turned his face to her and gently gave her a kiss. Abby never said a word, they loved on each other for about 20 minutes all the while a small crowd formed watching them with joy.
When it was time to go, Abby’s caregiver asked her several times to stand up, not wanting to leave Murphy she just sat there. I told Murphy “up” and he stood up, he looked at Abby watching her, waited a minute then gave her a kiss and a nudge on her legs. Abby stood up, gave Murphy hugs and kisses then turned to walk the other way. Murphy just stood there watching her walk away, making “Bulldog “ cry sounds. Abby turned to him after taking a few steps away and said “bye Murphy, I love you”.
I looked at her caregiver and she had this very shocked look on her face, then she began to cry and preceded to tell me that was the first time in 4 years that she has heard Abby say any words. Everyone in the small crowd had tear filled eyes, including my boy Murphy and myself. He KNEW she needed him, we all felt it...I witnessed a Miracle today. He has always been an amazing pup to me but today.... today he made a difference in the life of a beautiful 12 year old girl. Proud day ♥️♥️♥️

It has been a long time my Friends! 🙏🏻❤️ Thank you for bearing with me...Today one of our bestie’s from Earth made her way up here...and the Rainbow was beckoning me...I was sleeping just under the Rainbow with Franklin Bean and Allie andmy sister Josie when the alert went off...our friend Daisy was on her way. The Sun had not even fully risen yet but we knew this was important. Josie said she had to get lambchops and ran off, I went and alerted all of our friends and got treats out...and we were ready with open pawsas our friend Daisy came to us...we circled around her with warmth to let her know that she was safe and loved...we all cried a bit because we have all been through this transition and know the process well...and then we all laid in a pupply pile...to just let her know that she is so loved and ok until she is reunited with her Mommy Margi again. She is feeling our love tonight. ❤️🌸 We are going to take great care of her. We love you friends.

We know these look festive and fun, but please don't buy them! The vast majority of these rawhide products and treats come from China. Their journey starts with the hides being soaked in a toxic solution to remove the hair and fat. More chemicals are used in order to split the hide into layers which is then washed with hydrogen peroxide to give the white "pure" look and remove the rancid smell. Now comes the pretty festive colors and the glue to form cute shapes. They regularly cause choking and intestinal blockages, often leading to emergency surgery. We post this to educate, because when you know better you can do better!

Judy, the prisoner of war. 🎖

Judy was the mascot of several ships in the Pacific. She was captured by the Japanese in 1942 and taken to a prison camp. There she met Leading Aircraftsman Frank Williams who shared his small portion of rice with her. Judy raised morale in the POW camp giving alarm when poisonous snakes, crocodiles and even tigers approached. She was smuggled out in a rice sack when the prisoners were shipped back to Singapore. She never whimpered or betrayed her presence to the guards. The next day, the ship was torpedoed. Williams pushed Judy out of a porthole in an attempt to save her life, even though there was a 15 feet drop to the sea. He made his own escape from the ship, not knowing if Judy had survived. Frank Williams was recaptured and was sent to a new POW camp without news of Judy's survival. However, stories began being told of a dog helping drowning men reach pieces of debris on which to hold. Williams was giving up hope of finding Judy when she arrived in his new camp. "I couldn’t believe my eyes. As I entered the camp, a scraggy dog hit me square between the shoulders and knocked me over! I’d never been so glad to see the old girl." They spent a year in Sumatra. "She saved my life in so many ways. The greatest way of all was giving me a reason to live. All I had to do was look at her and into those weary, bloodshot eyes and I would ask myself: What would happen to her if I died? I had to keep going." Even if it meant waiting for a miracle. Once hostilities ceased, Judy was smuggled aboard a troopship heading to Liverpool. In England, she was awarded the Dickin Medal, "the animals' Victoria Cross", in May 1946. Her citation reads: "For magnificent courage and endurance in Japanese prison camps, which helped to maintain morale among her fellow prisoners and also for saving many lives through her intelligence and watchfulness". At the same time, Frank Williams was awarded the PDSA's White Cross of St. Giles, the highest award possible, for his devotion to Judy. Frank and Judy spent the year after the war visiting the relatives of English POWs who hadn't survived. Frank remarked that Judy always seemed to give a comforting presence. Judy died at the age of 13. Frank spent two months building a granite and marble memorial in her memory, which included a plaque which told of her life story.

OUR ANNUAL HOLIDAY
CHRISTMAS PROJECT
This year I have chosen to support ANIMEALS
In speaking with one of my customers that volunteers with Meals On Wheels I found out that sometimes when a client has a pet and they are having their meal delivered by Meals On Wheels that they were not eating the meal themselves. They were sharing it with their pet as they were struggling with their finances and didnt have enough dog food ...or any at all ...
Meals on Wheels now has a program called ANIMEALS !!!!! When a client has a pet they are now bringing dog food along with the clients meal !!!!
I am collecting for Animeals this year !!!
You may help by dropping off any kind of dog or cat food or treats..You may also drop off a check made out to MEALS ON WHEELS and note on the check "ANIMEALS" Any cash donations will be used to purchase dog and cat food that I will drop off to our local Meals on Wheels location before Christmas.
All receipts will be posted .
Anyone wishing to help please feel free to contact me thru messenger.
Please make checks out to MEALS ON WHEELS and message me for my address

The following list of organizations offer resources and assistance to dog and cat owners looking for help with vet bills or pet food.

Today is

The Shih Tzu's exact origins remain mysterious because the breed has been around for thousands of years, and the details of its development are lost. There are Chinese paintings dating back to around the year 500 C.E. that depict dogs believed to be Shih Tzus.

Although Shih Tzus date back to nearly the beginning of the common era, they are relatively new to the Western world. As previously mentioned, Shih Tzus were first introduced to England in the 1930s and then America after World War II. It wasn't until Sept. 1, 1969, that the American Kennel Club first recognized the breed.

That's all for
Have a fabulous weekend!!!

is inspired by Margi's dog Daisy!!
Daisy is a 7 year old, BLENHEIM (brown and white) Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. Daisy came from a breeder in Ohio. She loves her lambchop toys and knows quite a few tricks such as: sit, down, and "all the way".

Our fun fact is;
CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIELS ARE NAMED AFTER KING CHARLES II OF BRITAIN

King Charles II, who lived and ruled England in the 17th century, was an extremely devoted fan of the toy spaniels that came to be named after the monarch. It is said that the king instituted a law that said no King Charles spaniel could be barred from any public place, not even the House of Parliament, where animals otherwise were forbidden. His decree is still in place today.

RONALD REAGAN OWNED A CAVALIER KING CHARLES SPANIEL DURING HIS TIME IN THE WHITE HOUSE

Ronald Reagan gave first lady Nancy Reagan a Cavalier King Charles spaniel as a Christmas gift in 1985, during his second term in office. They named the dog Rex. He was a year old and originally belonged to William F. Buckley Jr. Rex lived in the White House through the rest of the Reagan administration and then with the Reagans at their home in Los Angeles. The pooch passed in 1998.
